TexasToest: I was 15,they bumped April Wine, there was a big scandel when Margret Trudeau(our then Prime Minister's wife) came down to party with them, apparently she was quite the welcome wagon
TexasToest: sweet, but yo home boy ventured into my area code to lay down that fine feast,a very special man and artis......that cub's a 10 minute cab ride from me.The night the Stones played that club I phoned them just to hear the Stones playing in the background
Ewe: I really enjoyed both songs,he seems to get better with age. It's lucky he invited Noel instead of Liam up onstage,Liam would have probably fell off the stool
Subject: I loved this band and thought they'd be huge
I have a few theories why they never quiet made it after an exceptional 1st album.I think it was a combination of being swept away by U2(a similar sound)and maybe they played up their Christianity too much, regardless, they recorded some damn fine music, this song especially http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iylGrePc0Tc
TexasToest: Weller had been formerly in a mod-type band called The Jam,it was an abot face when he started The Style Council.I wasn't really a big fan,but I do like that song,.........continuing in that vein http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJzqOi2Abjc

TexasToest: I love the double bass drum action in the song. It's funny when he expects the audience to sing the verse and there is silence, but Tokyo audiences were demanded to stay in their seats and quietly listen back then, not sure if they've relaxed the rules in recent years.........OOPS,almost forgot.I'm a big fan of Jery Lee Lewis's country phase back in the late 60's early 70's,sadly it isn't remebered by many. Here is Jerry doing a fine gospal tune,no,that's not Link of The Mod Squad singing backup

SEAWOLF2: MY READ ON IT IS THAT THEME DAYS WILL BE ANNOUNCED A FEW DAYS PRIOR,OTHERWISE THE SKY'S THE LIMIT AS TO THE TYPE OF MUSIC YOU POST,AND EVEN ON THEME DAYS THERE ARE NO PLANS TO TAKE ANYONE OUT TO THE WOODSHED IF THEY STRAY FROM THE THEME.
TexasToest: You may have a point,it would be interesting watching how quickly people would catch on to the lyric, lol. ok,this was my wedding song, hope it doesn't jinx you
TexasToest: Watching these guys on The Midnight Special at 13,sitting in a motel room in ST PETE'S Florida was my Beatles on Sullivan moment.I was mesmerised. The next day I ran to the record store, and begged the motel belly dancer to take me to her house so I could listen to it.I wrote them letters asking them to please play my home town. They also motivated me to pursue the drums. When this album came out,it created a vision in my mind of the ultimate rock concert experience,it was all I had dreamed they would sound live. This is still considered one of the best live rock albums ever released
