it is possible to have a conversation without calling someone a name.though this may be acceptable in your personal area...it is no longer acceptable here.
music is art,and a matter of taste and personal opinion.most all opinions vary in one form or another, and to me its interesting to see the various opinions.Again....if you disagree with someones taste in music...do it without name calling and insults, and you will have no problems with censorship

EIHN: don´t say that. The 80's were the best decade for music... Joy Division, New Order, B-52's were on your list...

Depeche Mode is a great band. Personal Jesus, Never let me down again, Stripped, among others, are still classic...

EIHN:

Well, I must be a clown... Why are you talking to me again? Have I been uncivilized? Just read the posts... I think you must be a little puzzled about who is who... Hide me if you want, but I have the right to reply to bruno in the same terms he have replied to me.

"Andre: You don't understand a thing about Metallica!Saying that "Kill 'em All" is crossover between Metal and punk reveals your total ignorance of the band,in particular, and music in general...if you don't know what you're talking about just shut up!
The best Metallica album ever made was "...and justice for all" their 4th record!"

This was his first message and I never have refered to him in my messages.

And yes, there is censorship at this board. Every message that not goes into your personal tastes are banned or, at least, criticized, like you´ve done to Rose´s message about the Kill 'em all album. Why wasn´t your message hided, like you´ve done to some of my messages criticizing Britney Spears (the so-called plastic music).

Bruno, just listen to the new God Module album and then you can talk to me... :)

Anyway, who were talking about plastic music? Since when, Metallica is plastic music?

Bruno, you´re just a child. I was already listening to good music while you were on the pre-school. Rammstein is good, even being the last album (reise) weaker than the others... But their lyrics are still excellent... Just listen to Amerika... Ministry were a good band until Psalm 69. Their last albuns are very bad, indeed... NIN, KMFDM and bands like these were just for american people... You still have much to learn...

Bruno: Sorry, but I can´t give you an appropriate reply to your message. "Censure" won´t allow me to do so...

EIHN: I've never heard of this album nor the band. I do think, however that sometimes people judge (or misjudge) music before giving it a chance.
A co worker of mine once said she didn't like the Metallica song 'Enter Sandman' because they mention ending your life! LOL She had the lyrics wrong (obviously)
Exit light
Enter night...to her sounded like exit light...end your life! She wasn't a fan of heavy metal and was under the misguided impression that it was evil.

What makes a person want to listen to an album entitled "KILL 'EM ALL" ??

EIHN: maybe for the (good) music... What´s the problem with this tittle?

Rose: Not my kind of music, nor even like Mettalica, but Kill 'em all is a great album. Their first albuns are really ver good. Real crossover between metal and punk... Much better than their last ones...

kitti: Kill 'em all (being their first) was what put em on the map. Listening to it now tho after all their albums sure shows you how much they learned and grew from their mistakes.

Going back to Saint Anger, one more thought, it is their only album/CD made that they are all sober. Makes you wonder also what their other albums woulda sounded like had they sobered up earlier!

EIHN: Agreed completely. Music industry today is sick and twisted.

Everyone should try to listen to music and decide for themselves what they like instead of letting others tell you what you should like.

Well.. The sounds are a bit shallow, lyrics are quite cheesy and James sounds like the kid he was when that was recorded. And despite all that its a great album :) Its the record that really got me hooked into metal. What do you think of it?

What do you think of Kill 'em all?

kitti
Sure he has, although its only only guesswork on my part. He's very professional and good at what he does (== making money, isn't that what music is all about nowadays). I doubt Metallica wouldn't be as big as they are now had they never worked with Bob.

That being said, i don't exactly like the influence he has had on their sound over the years. Allthough its quite hard to say what comes from the band itself and what from the producer. And its almost impossible to try and think what would have happened with another producer..

Subject: Re:
kitti: I will put in Saint Anger tonite and have a nother listen or two to it. I do think And Justice for all was likely their best works. Only my opinion though!
Do you think Bob Rock has helped the band since he has been with them?

26. December 2004, 22:16:54
kitti
Maybe i was exaggerating a bit, but lots of people i've talked to are not very fond of it. And i've read many negative reviews also. Anyways st. anger seems to grow on me, i like it more and more everytime i listen to it. And in my book that is the definition of a good cd :) I'd rank it among their top three albums with Master of puppets and And justice for all.. Sure its different from before but there's no need to do the same stuff over and over again.

About Bob Rock, i was quite worried what would happen when they first started working with him. They've survived for ten years without him completely destroying the band, so maybe he should be given some credit ;)

Hi Kitti. I didn't realize it was that widely disliked. I Dont completely dislike all songs on Saint nNger but it was a definite departure for them.
Bob Rock had a ton of influence on that one (Bob Rock also was the cause of the demise of Sound Garden so in my books he aint so great)

I wonder why "everyone" seems to dislike St. Anger. I think its their best album since they released And justice for all..

I know you asked Slam but since its a Tallica topic I gotta jump in. Saint Anger was pretty disappointing really. Any metal head must love Master o Puppets but even Load an Reload are awesome CD's

Let the ripper free EIHN ... some of these latest comments (IMO) are over the top for a public board. Andre, if you want to carry on with this banter you need to become a member and do it in a fellowship where the posting rules are more relaxed.
