I think the debate on whether complete song lyrics should be posted or not is irrelevent to a certain degree because the bottom line is Fencer requested no complete lyrics and that should be case closed. Its a shame though.

I second Bwild's assessment!! Its Bumble's fault. LOL

There's always a way around everything. But the question is: Is it legal? And if it's not, or if it's questionable, then it wouldn't matter if it were private or public. :/

This a public discussion board.

There's nothing to stop lyrics being reproduced in a private, members only, fellowship.

Now to make it really interesting, we could discuss the moral and ethical implications of CD burning. ;)

I think the larger point is the request of the owner of the site. I'm a little sympathetic to the copyright of lyrics because I'm a musician for one and several musician friends are song writers. For the past few years I played "gigs" with a friend who has two CD's of original material out. He's invested a ton of $$ and time into everything so I can understand the concern from their pov as well.

its all bumbles fault,SF.....take it up with him.LOL:)

I doubt it, what about yahoo public boards etc. Lets get yahoo in trouble by posting lyrics and then reporting them.
Not likely

21. July 2004, 04:59:52
Artful Dodger
It could be a problem for Fencer and BK. Could.

21. July 2004, 04:59:19
Artful Dodger
You seem to be suggesting that the law doens't exist. It doesn't matter. Fencer has requested that entire songs not be pasted here.

That should probably end the debate.

21. July 2004, 04:58:55
LongJohn
no court of law would convcit anyone here for posting lyrics to songs, it just wont happen

21. July 2004, 04:42:18

Subject: see below where the links are
Copyrighted material in the form of songs lyrics unfortunately does not fall under the fair use clause of the copyright laws, and the posting of such, places us at risk of lawsuits for infingement of copyright.

....are going to be on the Jay Leno show Wednesday, 7/21. And also the Jimmy Kimmel Live show Monday, 7/26.

Their new album 'Horse of a Different Color', which includes their hit Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy), is a must have feel good addition to anyones music colection.

I liken the pairing of Big Kenny and John Rich as the same luck the music world enjoyed when Crosby, Stills, and Nash sang their first song together in Mama Cass' home, and someone told them...'You all should really sing together.'
