And I actually had used the ReaGif, but it looks like they also have a ReaJpeg - even though they both look to do the same. (But ReaGif is what I actually used.)

I have only Photoshop 5 and although it has a batch processor as well, I couldn't find a way how to set it up for the task I need. The "image size" function has no percentages, only exact dimensions to change to.

If you have Photshop7 you can do it in there really easily. There is a batch processor built in

Does anybody know an easy [and preferrably freeware] tool for automated image processing? For example, I have 100 or 200 images of different sizes and I need to scale them to 70% of their original size.

I've always liked my gmail account. I'm not going to use it as my main account, but I will continue to use for something - just not sure exactly what.

I'm really surprised that it is not open to the public yet. I figured it would be public when they released their stocks or what not.

how do you define "reasonable"? I think it's a fast connection. People have 3mb/sec and 5mb/sec, but if all you do is just browse the web and play brainking that's more then enough.

can anybody tell me if this is a reasonable connection speed please because i dont understand it fully .

Your Connection is currently:
732.90 kbps
which equates to 91.61 Kb/s

Thanks to all of you for the advice.

BBW! I see the files that are causing the errors after downloading the program in your link. Would you recommend I disable them and try to restart windows???

Rose I agree with you. I messed with my registry and did not have a computer for 1 month. It had to go to the doctors LOL

To see what is running at comptuer startup, I use THIS SOFTWARE - StartUpRun - It's free, and shows you what is starting up (From registry, Start menu, etc...)

Rose
That is your registry Gooner. Be very very careful playing with files in there. If you arent sure what you are doing get a tech to look in to it. I and many others I know have gone in to the registry to fix things and crashed the machine to the point of no return.. it isnt a place on the machine to be messing with if you dont know what yer doing.. just a lil note there!

well, something is crashing, you just need to find out the name of the executable. Monitor the task manager, see what processes are in the memory.

What's in your HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry?

I've narrowed mine down a bit, it belongs to a 'my MP3' and 'my downloads' folders. If I double click on them, it tells me there is no such folder, but if I remove them it stops other things working!

Thanks Niki, I downloaded the bazooka spyware programme (even though I have ad aware!) and foillowed all the steps, but its still happening. It probably is caused by 'adult' material, its a new (to me) PC and the woman I bought it from hadn't cleared ANYTHING out. All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't plug it in and let my kids on it! And it had 6 virus' too. She obviously didn't have a clue how to care for a PC. Less than me, even! I think I sorted most of the things out, but this error message has me beat.

oh, yeah, and check the registry, i bet it's in "Run" somewhere, you are not the only one with this problem: http://computercops.biz/postlite66589-sdkcp.html

if you don't know what it is, Microsoft doesn't know what it is and it keeps crashing - delete it.

Talking of error messages on start up, I'm getting "Error loading C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSA64CHK.DLL". Does anyone know what that is and how I cure it?

- but it's hard to guess ... I would use an emergency CD with virus/trojan-scanner
- those minimal systems don't need the hard drive and do their work independently ...
the repair programs on the CD might not help directly - but give you better diagnosis ... ~*~
