Discussing favorite movies is a great topic but keep in mind some folks haven't seen the movie yet we may be discussing so don't give the endings away!

I was disappointed by Wallace & Gromit victory (I was supporting "Corpse Bride") but "Crash" was the best of the 5 nominees and it's victory was the best decision the Oscars made in the last years.
We saw Wallace and Gromit Friday night and I must say it was rather funny.
And, Clooney gave just about the best acceptance speech I have heard in years.
Fell asleep before the best actress and best movie were presented so had to catch up this morning!
Summertop: Did you see Crash? If so did you think it deserved top honour? I saw it but don't necessarily think it deserved best nod. I was surprised that Ang Lee got best director. I figured that film would win a few awards.

Jack Wild
LONDON (AP) - Jack Wild, the actor appeared who in the movie musical "Oliver!" as the irrepressible Artful Dodger, has died, his agent said Thursday. He was 53.
Wild died Wednesday after a battle with mouth cancer, agent Alex Jay said.
As a child actor, Wild appeared in a London stage production of "Oliver!", Lionel Bart's adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Oliver Twist." He was cast in the film as cheeky pickpocket the Artful Dodger, earning an Academy Award nomination at the age of 16.
He was known to a generation of children as the hero of "HR Pufnstuf," a U.S. television series about a boy stranded on a fantastical island with a talking flute, a friendly dragon and eerie, chatty trees. A feature film, "Pufnstuf," appeared in 1970.
Wild's adult acting career was fitful and he struggled with alcoholism. He had a role as one of the Merry Men in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" in 1991.
Wild was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2000, and surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy had left him unable to speak.
Saw the new Harry Potter and Jarhead last nite.
Wasn't sure about either before we rented them but went in with an open mind.
I have to say I was quite pleased with both movies.
Harry Potter, to me was by far the best in the series yet but very geared to older kids and adults instead of the younger kids.
I also really enjoyed Jarhead. If you liked Full Metal Jacket this is quite comparable. Kinda like the Full Metal Jacket of Dessert storm.
For those of you who liked this "reality" show (like I did), they are starting auditions for this show, so expect it to be on the NBC schedule this summer.
Season #3, NBC "rushed" it and did no auditions and took the comics from season 1 vs. season 2 and it bombed, leading to NBC not even showing the final show (which also upset many), and finaly comedy central aired the last show so people could at least see who won. Hopefully NBC learned their leason and now going back to how the first 2 shows were.
I posted this on computers, but after thinking about it - it might do well here also:
AOL has a new "TV Station" which you can watch on-line for free (High speed internet connection needed) - Looks like they have 14 "channels" which different shows on. Only quickly glanced at it, but felt I would share it with others.
The In2TV channel on AOL.com was announced in November and began yesterday with 30 series, including "Growing Pains" and "Eight is Enough." The network will also offer games, polls and other interactive features.
The shows are free to anyone with high-speed Internet access. The network is supported through advertising.
Eventually the company plans to offer more than 100 series and at least 300 episodes per month to lure broadband users to the AOL Web site.
The company says the shows will be available exclusively online and not in reruns on TV.
I did search here for teh movie Saw and noticed many people had enjoyed it. I very well did too. It was one of teh most exciting and unpredictable movies that I had ever seen. But I just couldn't realize why Dr. Gordon couldn't use the gun and the one bullet he had to break one of teh locks on his chain, or why at the end, Adam couldn't do the same with the gun that had remained from that Mr. Hindle, or whether or not it had been Jigsaw all the time that gave both Adam and Dr. Gordon electric shocks. It can't have been him, since his arms were wide open, so it must have been Hindle.
Then how come Jigsaw had a tool to do that in the end?
The last comic standing will be back on NBC soon. Looks like they are going back to the original way, when the show was good.... luckly NBC did not drive it into the ground completly when they kept trying to get everything they could out of it with all their specials and such.
Also back on USA soon is the 3rd season of The 4400 - I love this SciFi show. A long clip (40+ minutes?) that will catch you up on the first 2 seasons if you did not watch. http://tv.yahoo.com/feature/the4400.html (starts early June on USA)

grant: I liked Walk the Line and Fun with Dick and Jane, not seen any of the others though. I haven't had chance to watch any films lately, I'm looking forward to the new Omen film coming out in June though... which reminds me I did watch the new Exorcist, thats a great film. My kids favourite lately? Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em!! The oldies are still the best! They love Frank Spencer!
