AbigailII: Your Pancreas produces insulin.Your body doesn't absorb insulin unless your on insulin.Yes being over weight is a factor of Class 11 Diabetics so is genetics.Eating high fats and alot of sugar can make you over weight.Eating alot of sugar per se does not cause you to become diabetic.

Rose: I agree with some of what you say the key is moderation.
You don't become diabetic from eating too much sugar, the key there is your pancreas and whether your producing insulin.
My granmother has sugar and was having alot of migranes.I went over her diet and found way too much of the so called diet sugars. She now uses NO diet sugar in her coffee or cooking. Her Migraines are gone since we changed her diet.Splenda is also in the diet sugar group but they say it's raw sugar.

Yes i know i can't spell.lol

OMG i'm due Nov 27 lol.A cannolli is a round hard shell with Ricotta cheese in it,the cheese has sugar ,vanilla, cherries, and bits of choc.We usually make them but i haven't lately,i buy the shells already made. Now don't tell my Gram on me.The cheese can be low fat and sugar free, but you got to leave out the choc and the cherries.

Nothing to it,we have a home delivery for Spring water,we just cut up all the fruit and add it to the water.

Musiclover i drink 1 per cent milk and lots of it but i tend to go more for yogurt.
I use the yogurt for a dip so does my 6 yr old she loves it.I also freeze it for a cold snack.

I'm just trying to keep my weight down for now.A comment on Splenda it has alot of side effects, one is headaches.I'll have to post the site where i got the info from.Did find a sugar-free wheat bread that i like, but the price almost knocked me over $2.99 for a small loaf. It's the white flour and sugar that i need to keep away from.
Pasta is my biggest problem i just got to have it,anyway i can get it.lol.....

Well i blew it not only did i have my pasta but the Canolli to.I hate scales and never use them. Now of course i get weighed in at the Drs.
I'd be worried about the Atkins alot of ppl gain the weight back.As in any diet you'll lose fast first than hit a slow rate. It's your body adjusting.

I can't really diet at the moment but watching a food program i found this very interesting.
Use lettuce as your bread for a tuna sanwhich just use the big leaves.Same for a BLT or a Cheeseburger.Works for me and fills me up.lol Not for long tho.

Thanks Chattytea.I'm one of the lucky ones had a problem of being too skinny lol.......Thats just as bad i guess.Right now i'm holding at about 4lbs a month got 6 too go.It's the cravings like sweets, carbs are my biggest problem.I can live on Macaroni with meatballs all week.Got my hubby keeping an eye on me but he works nights so i wake up hungry.lol I can't go walking or excercise since i'm in a high risk, more bed rest and only allowed up to go potty.lol.......and to the fridge.
