Connect6, introduced by Professor I-Chen Wu at Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chiao Tung University, is an interesting strategic game, much more balanced than the classic Five in Line.
Start position and game object
The goal of the game is to place six or more pieces in a solid row vertically, horizontally or diagonally. The game starts on an empty board:
How to place pieces
Black player starts the game and places one black piece at any intersection on the board. After this initial move is done, each player places two pieces at any empty intersection per move. The meaning of the initial single-piece move of the black player is to reduce the starting player advantage.
How to finish the game
The game ends if one of the following conditions is fulfilled:
One player places six or more pieces in a solid row vertically, horizontally or diagonally. This player wins the game.
All intersections of the board are occupied and no player fulfills the previous condition to win. In this case the game ends as a draw.
