In order to make this game more balanced, the Cheversi rules will be changed as of 1st February 2008. Please read all details here. All games which are started prior to 1st February will be finished with the current rules.
After a consultation with the game author, the current rules of Cheversi are not exactly following his ideas, so they will be fixed. The fix cover two important changes:
Only empty squares would be counted for the score. The current model counts attacked opponent's pieces too.
If a square is attacked by more pieces at once, the player would get a point for every attacking piece separately. The current model counts only one point, regardless on the number of pieces attacking the square.
In order to eliminate an advantage of black player, a game must be started by placing a white king, followed by placing a black queen. The second and other moves has no restrictions.
This change will be valid for games started on 11th January 2007 or later, it won't affect games which are started prior to this date.

(hide) If you want to play a game with an opponent of a similar level, you can define a required BKR range for a new game invitation. Then nobody with a BKR outside this range will be able to see/accept it. (Katechka) (show all tips)
