Just start with picture cards, hand gestures, facial expressions, and etc.. Young kids catch on super quick. Japanese in general are shy. So don't be mislead, when they are shy. A greeting in the morning could be helpful. Try, "Ohaio" pronounced like the state 'Ohio'. this means 'good morning'. but for the most part, leave her alone. she might feel more uncomfortable with the spot-light on her.
