ET is afraid to lose Mr. ET made a chess variant called Gothic Chess. Predecessors of this variant were created by the Englishman Henry Bird (in 1874), and the Cuban grandmaster Jose Raul Capablanca (1888-1942). Mr. ET modified the Capablanca chess initial setup and changed the positions of two pieces: the archbishop and the chancellor.
I publicly challenged Mr. ET to join this tournament and face all players in all chess variants, including those variants for which there is no computer programs. Mr. ET refused to play because he was afraid of losing games and having his ratings go down. At the present he only plays two chess variants for which there is computer programs to help the player.
