Bernice: I have noticed that too, and the same pop-up appears at logout; a real nuisance! The problem is that the castle layout is programmed into the log-in page, and settings only controls a player's main page. I'm surprised more players haven't mentioned this here.
It would be much easier (and less aggravating) if the site figured out what recent change has caused this, and alleviate it, or just get rid of that goofy bat (or whatever it is flying across the screen) altogether.
Thad: thanks but that didnt work...and tried all settings....I click on login and have to wait until I get the "message" click on YES to stop running the script and then on login AGAIN and then that silly damn things flies across the page and then I am in...:(
From the menu on the left of the main BrainKing page, choose Settings from under Profile. Then, on the General tab (which should be the default) at the very top is Main Layout. Change to one of the other layouts. Then you won't see the dragon and the script that runs it should stop being run whenever you bring up that page.
Iamon lyme: it hasnt stopped me from doing anything either...but that darned flying contraption dont fly until I say yes...at least I know it is BK and not me....Thanks crosseyed, for your input as well....makes me feel much better knowing it isn't myself....
Bernice: Same here. I click on "Yes" to stop running script... hopefully that's the right choice.
I get a different message at another site that tells me a cross script is running. I have no idea what these runny scripts or cross scripts are all about, but so far it hasn't prevented me from doing anything.
Every time I got to log into here a window pops up and says...
Stop Running Script?
A scrift on this page is causing internet explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run your computer might become unresponsive...there is a yes and no button...I always click on yes to STOP RUNNING SCRIPT..
What would be causing this - it has only just started in the last couple days?
It doesn't happen anywhere else except here...I can't log in until i click Y or N
Artful Dodger: in a faraway mountain valley. Just visiting the civilization for some days. I'll go back 'hiding' tomorrow. Have a nice time Brainkingers.
Iamon lyme: I think that's the ghost of Christmas past. Or my uncle Ben. Both are (were) sort of, well, challenged intellectually. But they did manage to stay in a Holiday Inn when they were alive (Ben still resides there in room 101 - IF ya know what I mean).
;) And now back to our regularly scheduled BK.com board stuff.
Roberto Silva: I was trying to text a client that I was running late for an appt , must of taken me 5 minutes to punch in "I'm running late" on the keypad, they're not built for stubby fingers
Temo: Re: White Screens - I think I found something!
Aganju: good luck if you can get somebody to listen to you...so many of us have /had that problem it is part of playing at BrainKing unfortunately. but is is still the best site to play game on - and is a par with IYT and Gold Token altho I find Gold Token a bit hard to manouvre around :)
Today, I got the much discussed 'White Screen' for Brainking for the first time. I was in a restaurant, using my iPad. Here is the interesting part: I took out my iPhone, and - using the same wireless access point - it worked! I could do some moves on the iPhone, and during that time, the iPad still gave me white screens. I then tried to clear the cache, reload the page, close the page, the browser, reboot the iPad; nothing helped. I finally killed the browser, and then it worked.
From my (limited!) understanding for how web servers communicate with browsers, it looks like the browser is using a session ID that the Brainking server is no longer accepting (for whatever reason), and Brainking is not telling the browser, so the browser doesn't know it and keeps using it. maybe somebody with more knowledge can enlighten us. I think it is definitely useful to know now that it is not your location, network, router, DNS server, etc., as two devices coming through the same access point can have different behavior.
He is referencing a tv commercial here in the US. Purple means your ex-girlfriend is hacking your account, and you should have told her you were talking to Jake from State Farm (his insurance agent): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47cAxRX3aDg
Ok, this is strange. I created a pond called Quit the night and seek the day and another has been created in my name that has the same name and is scheduled to begin at the same moment. I have changed my password now. hopefully that will stop anything else from happening. Someone seems to have me in their sites.
Purple: your email address is in the account details here. That can be used to send fake emails loaded with viruses. ... which can lead to your computer being compromised.
I just wanted to say that it seems somebody has been sending messages posing as me or at least on my behalf. I got a message from Nirvana yesterday that was apparently a reply to a message that I had sent to her or to one of her fellowships. It's been a little frustrating because she was offline when I received the message and has been offline since, so I haven't been able to clarify where the message came from exactly. I hope that my account has not been hacked. The message seemed to have cut and pasted portions of an actual message that I sent a couple of weeks ago to my fellowship members, but mostly stuff added that has nothing to do with me. Someone seems to be posing as me for a joke. I just wanted to put this on the main brainking board in case other people have been receiving such messages. Please let me know if you have.
rabbitoid: It's not dependent on it, it just uses it for statistics. A small JavaScript should be loaded and executed after the page content is fully loaded.
Why does every click on the BK site - this evening, anyway - finish seemingly correctly, but continue to load (chrome or firefox) while displaying "waiting for google-analytics.com"? Why is BK dependent on this third party site?
Vikings: He was a pawn a few hours ago when I first read his post.
It seems that someone believes in cosmic justice (Fencer? you? someone else?) and quietly bought/gave him a rook membership so that his problem was resolved.
