It just occurred to me, no contractor in his right mind would try to run a pipe from the kitchen into the sewer line... I'll have to do this myself. It'll be a tight fit, but if I put the toilet paper roll on the refrigerator door... yeah, this could work!
Thanks AD. That's a good idea. (I'll have you to thank for this)
"I look at it this way... For centuries now, man has done everything he can to destroy, defile, and interfere with nature: clear-cutting forests, strip-mining mountains, poisoning the atmosphere, over-fishing the oceans, polluting the rivers and lakes, destroying wetlands and aquifers... so when nature strikes back, and smacks him on the head and kicks him in the nuts, I enjoy that. I have absolutely no sympathy for human beings whatsoever. None. And no matter what kind of problem humans are facing, whether it's natural or man-made, I always hope it gets worse."
“Clinging to any form of conservatism can be dangerous. Become too conservative and you are unprepared for surprises. You cannot depend on luck. Logic is blind and often knows only its own past. Logic is good for playing chess but is often too slow for the needs of survival.” ― Frank Herbert, Chapterhouse: Dune
Temo: Re: The bible belt will love Ryan, there is loads of video of him singing her praises
The Col: A lot of Conservatives "love" Mark Twain too. I'm personally a fan of the late Christopher Hitchens. Aside from their atheism, they were great thinkers. So what?
(V): It would be one thing if he just found her books interesting , but he totally buys into her philosophy. It will be interesting how he responds in the inevitable interviews where they run the clips where he's slobbering all over her philosophy , a mere 3 years ago
Government "help" to business is just as disastrous as government persecution... the only way a government can be of service to national prosperity is by keeping its hands off. Ayn Rand
Sounds like it's right out of the Conservative handbook.
Temo: Re: The bible belt will love Ryan, there is loads of video of him singing her praises
(V): Kinda like their support of Israel, it's strictly strategic to a large extent. I suppose Israel feels the same , but I doubt there is overflowing love of Jews specifically.
Temo: Re: The bible belt will love Ryan, there is loads of video of him singing her praises
The Col: Aye.. strategic is the main thing. It's not about "Jerusalem" or the Jews, but being able to justify billions of dollars of military gifts and the ability to keep a force in the area. From what I've seen the Jews consider the Christians that go help as 'unclean'.
Temo: Re: The bible belt will love Ryan, there is loads of video of him singing her praises
The Col: Lots of things are not 'Kosher' .. who cares. I like Judaism, it's handy for good Bible interpretation rather than the crackpot neo con version.. which is only a young man made up ideology.
George can't be a preying mantis. He doesn't have the claw like appendages. And if you look closely at his body (it's out of focus, but you can still see it) he appears to have the slender body of a dragon fly. Can't make out his wings very well because they are out of focus too...
Anyway, I just thought that needed to said. You may now go back to ragging on Israel and religion and planet killers... and the wealthy.
No, not the wealthy liberals, the other wealthy people.
I wasn't too sure about her, but after 4 years of watching how well unenlightened self interest works, the Ayn Rand philosophy is starting to look pretty darn good.
You know what's really funny about this presidential race? The difference between democrats and republicans is not only ideological, it's also psychological.
If Obama was a republican and Romney a democrat, the democrats would want to talk about Obamas record. And the republicans would have to back off, because they would know what a screw up their Republican president Obama has been. The only avenue for republicans to go down would be to make personal attacks against Democratic candidate Mitt Romney. LOL
Iamon lyme: Notice how the left wing loons are all doing the lemming dance when it comes to Ayn Rand and Paul Ryan? It's so funny. But wait, I can't find anything where they went on and on about Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and Rashid Khalidi. Conservatives did, but the left stayed silent. And likely few even know anything about Frank Marshall Davis. He's perhaps the most important person in Obama's life. Davis was a pro-Russia, pro-Red China, card carrying communist and Obama considered him his mentor.
Artful Dodger: I know how strange this sounds, but I believe they don't see the hypocrisy because they can't see it.
My point about the psychological difference is that more democrats place emphasis on party identity than do republicans. It's because of this that they are unwilling (or maybe unable) to regulate themselves. One clear evidence of this is that republicans will call phonies in their own party rinos (republican in name only). When has anyone ever seen a democrat criticise one of their own by calling them a 'dino'?
And do you know why? Because being a democrat is all it takes. There is no "in name only". If you support a democratic candidate and vote for him/her, you are a bona fide democrat.
The 'what if Obama was a republican and Romney a democrat' senario is more likely to confuse democrats than republicans, because more republicans than democrats will put a higher value on ideology than on party identity.
Iamon lyme: Exactly. Debbie Blabbermouth Shultz is a classic example. She was on the news bashing Ryan's idea for Medicare and claiming that he was shredding it. Truth was that his bill gave seniors choices. They could keep medicare as is or they could opt into medical insurance that equals what all Federal employees enjoy. Even though this is a fact and was proven to her, she still stayed on her talking points. Even more odd, she didn't deny what the news host was saying, she actually affirmed it! However she affirmed it with a "Yes but......." She's a complete idiot.
Apparently they already are ignoring it... I didn't know about this until you posted it. Anyone who knows about this and is poo pooing it because Obama won't be president for much longer, they should be reminded that decisions like this don't just go away because a particular leader goes away.
I never guessed Obama's administration would have been this corrupt or perverted. If I had known, I would have suggested at the outset that we (the American people) would do well to find out what his net worth is and offer to double it, on the condition that he step down and just go away.
He could still talk to anyone who wanted to listen, but he would have to get off the world stage and stop bothering us with speeches that pre-empt shows I'd rather be watching.... like Bowling for Dollars, or reruns of The Beverly Hillbillies. Or test patterns.
Or even a blank screen... anything would be better.
''My grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed. You're facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don't think too much further than that. And so what you've got to do is you've got to curtail that type of behavior. They don't know any better.'' ~
South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, arguing against government food assistance for poor residents.
Iamon lyme: Too funny. I'm watching TV and it's off and it's more interesting that watching an Obama speech. I need to watch this channel more often!
After the convention, the real fun begins. I can't wait until I see the debate between Biden and Ryan. Biden is such an idiot. He'll be ok if he stays on script. Not so much if he doesn't.
In Virginia the owner of a bakery was approached by Biden officials and asked if he'd like to host a Biden stop in their state. There would be press people there and a great opportunity for exposure etc. The owner said, "no thanks." When asked why he said, "Because it's the Obama's position that I didn't build this business. It's an insult to small business owners everywhere." The guy's wife was at home sleeping for having worked a full 24 hours the previous day.
Temo: Re: I so agree with you. Some of what they want to control is civil rights issues, not moral issues.
mckinley: Yes, but they make it a moral issue by using GOD!! A few good misquotes out of the Bible and they are putty in the hands of the politicians. The Church doesn't care as it gets nice crisp notes in it's donation plates, and a guarantee of a job for life.
"but I think Romney might win because of Ryan."
He might win over the teabag vote, but it might also drive away the moderates and undecided.
The President had to ASK to have his birth certificate sent to him. Haywain state law required the President to ask for the state records to be released,
... He is still bound by law... but that's illogical!!
Artful Dodger: "I can't wait until I see the debate between Biden and Ryan."
The only thing the democrats have on Ryan is that he's boring. Fiscal responsibility is needed, but let's face it, it's not very exciting. I will miss the excitment when Joe is gone.
