Sam has closed his piano and gone to bed ... now we can talk about the real stuff of life ... love, liberty and games such as Janus, Capablanca Random, Embassy Chess & the odd mention of other 10x8 variants is welcome too
For posting: - invitations to games (you can also use the New Game menu or for particular games: Janus; Capablanca Random; or Embassy) - information about upcoming tournaments - disussion of games (please limit this to completed games or discussion on how a game has arrived at a certain position ... speculation on who has an advantage or the benefits of potential moves is not permitted while that particular game is in progress) - links to interesting related sites (non-promotional)

Caissus: No, it's not true. That person was only banned from all public boards because he never wanted to understand how to behave here. He could finish his games with no problems. It's not my fault he timeouted because of a fear of a loss. Some people are simply too paranoid to cope with it.
SMIRF Engine: I would like to correct you - the Embassy Chess implementation is completed here because the game is playable with no bugs or problems. The points you highlight are only minor issues which don't affect the game itself. Of course, they will be fixed as soon as possible anyway.
And my point of view is that Mr. Trice should spend less time on lawsuits and more time on trying to type correct passwords. This last attempt of getting some attention is really poor.
Okay and now some information from me, just to prevent wrong speculations:
1) The account EdTrice is fully functional and no restrictions have been applied to it.
2) The BrainKing password system is still the same and was never changed. It works the same for everyone.
EdTrice: This is not a place for repeating your worthless promises over and over. I am interested in a partnership with reliable and honest people, not you. And as I said before, I don't wish any more off-topic babble about hypothetical lawsuits, sponsors, investors and other funny stuff from your side. Take it, or leave the site.
And just to make it clear for other, I support opinions of Caissus, BIG BAD WOLF and similar ones.
As I already said many times, Walter Montego is in charge of this board and it's up to him and only him to decide who should be banned/unbanned etc. I've also send him a message so he is aware of it.
No, no, no. No private messages. I want everyone to see my opinion and statement.
It's not true that almost all of them were Danoschek's aliases, maybe half of them, and you know it. I've reviewed the list before I've deleted it.
You know that I always do what I think is the best for BrainKing, not for any particular user.
And if you don't want to renew the licence, it's your right, of course, and I will remove gothic chess from this site.
Hi Ed,
I don't like the way how you moderate Gothic Chess discussion board. There are currently 43 banned users and it is not normal. No other board has such problems. Moreover, even if you feel insulted by several other people, you cannot misuse the moderator function to solve your personal problems. A moderator must be kind of adaptable and show some basic diplomatic skills to do the job properly. I've been watching your activities for several weeks [or even months?] and, unfortunatelly, I don't think that you can moderate any BrainKing discussion board any longer.
I am taking over this board.
Just a side note - it is better to use relative URLs, e.g. <a href=/game/ArchivedGame?g=98600>Defrag Game</a> to make them compatible with both possible host addresses - brainking.com and www.brainking.com.
Felix: The tournaments rules have been changed, there is no more a registration fee and the prize has been raised to $3000. I am sure that if you ask Ed to send the $50 back to you, he will do it.
And the tournament starts on 1st October 2003. You can find more information on GothicChess.org.
Right.
I am afraid that it would lead to a heap of variant combinations [gothic loop chess, atomic janus chess, omega crazy screen chess, ...] which is exactly what I don't want to do here.
I apologize for a temporary inactivity of GothicChess.org site. It is located on our web/database server which is currently down [see Server News for more information].<br>
All files have been sucessfully transfered to our second server but the domain itself needs to be redirected to another IP address. It can take several days until the change is reflected on all DNS servers.
Just a couple of notes:
1) "Fencer Time" is GMT+01:00 :-)
2) When we upgrade our hardware to more powerful machines, I will be able to generate this page each time a game of gothic chess is finished, so it will always reflect the real status.
And to ensure that the link (and any other BK-related links) will really work for everybody, use relative URLs instead (<a href=/game/Tournaments?trg=822&tri=3319>) :-)
Aaarghh! I've lost one game in my section of $250 tourney. Luckily, my opponent has one lost game as well so I hope that S-B points will work for me ;-)
