He claims to be doing that with just the guitar, his voice and a whole lot of effects. No loopbacks, prerecorded stuff or anything like that. Incredible.
Tuesday: Great, very interesting cover song. I like this kind of covers where the band really puts an effort into playing the song in their own style and not just copying..
MadMonkey: Well the delete and edit links are now longer there in my messages. Only reason i can think of is that my rook membership ran out. So delete away.
Happy Lemmys 65th birthday everyone! Age does not seem to slow him down, this is a song called Outlaw from brand new Motörhead album The Wörld Is Yours. One of the best CDs of the year!
I shall be seeing Korpiklaani once again tomorrow.. Along with Sotajumala, Man-eating tree (new band from the drummer of Sentenced), Secrets of the Moon and Sólstafir from Iceland.. It should be great fun!
Finnish rock band Leningrad Cowboys performing a ZZTop song with the Russian red army choir! Also included are parts of the Russian anthem and Hallelujah by Friedrich Händel. Have fun!
The Col: Motörhead and NP really rock! Although i have not been able to see NP live yet, but Motörhead is always great. If your clients enjoyed that, they very well might like Finntroll also. But of course MH&NP are easy listening compared to Finntroll (and Ensiferum who will be joining FT on the tour also).
But i'm not quite sure what kind of fanbase Finntroll has overseas and what kind of atmosphere would be on their show there. I would guess that they are not very well known on that side of the big pond? Maybe something can be judged by the venues they play at, for example DNA Lounge@San Francisco, El Corazon@Seattle, The Rebuplik@Calgary and Starlite room@Edmonton.
Anyways in your position i would atleast check out some reviews about their shows around there, or better yet go check it myself before taking clients to see them.
Tuesday: Very nice. The band was great as usual, very energetic. Setlist was a good combination of new and older stuff. But I would have liked to hear Det Iskalla Trollblod also! The audience was not the craziest i've seen on Finntroll gig, but pretty nice atmosphere anyway for a thursday night show. Anyways, i really enjoyed it!
They are touring Finland this month, then europe for the rest of year and US&Canada in beginning of 2011. I highly recommend everyone (with even slightest interest to metal music) to go see them, great liveband!
