On tv they showed the guy just making movie after movie, well,NOT ME!

Speaking of slow pages, I was searching on Firefox the other day for a bandwidth tester, and I found the FasterFox extension.

I don't know what it does, but my page loading smokes now!

Eriisa:

I use Fasterfox... yes, it does as it says but one thing to keep in mind, Its taking bandwidth from your local ISP.

U have some options in fasterfox, make sure you check them out..
(Default, Curteous, Optimized, Turbo Charged And Custom)

If you use Turbo Charged 24/7 your ISP will be charging you extra for the bandwidth LOL

harley: sorry it took so long to get this post up...All I can tell you are the ones I am burning say...video clip bit rate 1536kp dimension 720x576 size 291. That is the one that I am burning to the dvd but then the dvd will not play in a regular dvd player...just the puter. The origanial files (before I edit them in my pinnacle) say quicktime movie size 17.6 mb.I have to convert them though to play through the pinnalce.does this help you at all to help ME figure out what is going on? I am going to get ahold of BOTH gateway and pinnalcle AGIAN today if I have some time before work.

Plays perfect in the computer but not in a DVD-player. There are many programs where you can convert, i tried a free one but it didnt work out too well.
Im sure if you do a google serach for videoconverter you'll be able to find one

anastasia: It may also be the DVD player.

I have a very nice DVD 5-disc changer which will only play some of my burnt DVD movies, but I then also have a very cheap ($39) DVD Player from Wal-Mart which will play them all.

So you may be burning everything OK, just that your DVD player can't play them. (Not sure why, some are just more 'picky' then others.)

BIG BAD WOLF: I just got off phone with gateway and they said that aolt of players can't read jpeg format..I have NO IDEA what format the movies are because they load as "quicktime" this is the only thing that she can come up with.HOWEVER....pinnacle sent me that program to chnage the format...HOWEVER....I cannot burn through the pinnacle for some reason and I am now waiting to here back from them.HONESTLY...maybe THIS will convince my husband to buy us a new dvd recorder instead of me recording movies from my reg digital camera.

anastasia: Well I now use Nero 7 for all my burning of movies.

There is an option to "Make your own DVD-Video" where you go and choose your video file (from .avi or other formats), it will let you make menues and such, and will do all the coverting & buring itself. It takes awhile, but I normally start before I go to bed, and in the morning it is done.

Before I started using Nero 7, I was using a few different programs for converting, and burning and such, and was getting to be a pain - and found Nero 7 a help - easy program to do all my burning & converting.

BIG BAD WOLF: I think the converting is the problem...the lady from gateway said that since the still photos are in jpeg fprmat, chances are that the movies are in jpeg format and dvd players cannot read a jpeg format.I am still waiting (probably take a while since this is a holiday weekend) to hear back from pinnacle about what they say.I try to burn through pinnalce and it says that it is burning but nothing actually happens.I am only trying to burn 60 seconds worth of video...surely it wouldn't take 45 minutes to do that, would it?

My ISP is associated with Yahoo. So the email account my ISP provides is very much like a Yahoo email account. When I type or cut & paste a URL into an email it does not come out clickable. I very recently installed RSSreader.

Each time I try to add and address, an error sentence say it is a not valid. For example: http://brainking.com/fr/GameList

I click on "validate".
Receive: http://www.feedvalidator.org/check?url=http://brainking.com/fr/GameList
The reply is "It looks like this is a web page, not a feed. I looked for a feed associated with this page, but couldn't find one. Please enter the address of your feed to validate".

Someone know wich is the valid address for BrainKing, please?

The GameList doesn't have any feed! There are only feeds for discussion boards and News! You can find the link by hovering (or clicking) the orange "RSS"-button (this one) on the top of a page. If a BK page doesn't have this icon, it doesn't have a feed. The feed for this discussion board is:

Baked Alaskan: yeah, some little kid had a field day banging on my keyboard and he obviously hit something by accident that did something, but I just cant figure out what it was. i thought someone with a good knoledge of computers could have an idea maybe where I could/should at least have a look at? My guess is that he randomly brought up something and either checked or unchecked a box or two.... so if I can get some idea what controls how graphics load, I might be able to find which box or filter or whatever I need to turn on/off?

the guy at my tech support suggested to download a new version of firefox and overwrite the old one.... will this make me lose my bookmarks and extension etc?

26. Junio 2006, 15:32:04
coan.net
Temo: Re:
Czuch Chuckers: I would also suggest trying to download the newest copy of firefox if you do not already have the newest version.

No, you should not lose any bookmarks. Some extensions only work for certain versions, but if I remember correctly, it will tell you if it does not work and will go search for newer versions of the extensions for you. (not 100% sure about that.)

Also, you can be safe and export your bookmarks first if you want to make sure you don't lose them. (in firefox, tools, bookmark manager - file, export - into bookmarks.htm - then if you need to, you can import them back - but again, they should copy over automaticly.)

Also, the newest version of firefox will keep itself updated, that is automaticly check for updates and give you options to update it when needed - which is always a good thing for a browser because new security issues for most browsers show up all the time.

Temo: Re:
Czuch Chuckers: As BBW says, you don't need to worry about your bookmarks. Firefox keeps your settings, bookmarks, etc. in your home directory, so they won't be lost except you reinstall windows :)
But another question: Do graphics on other pages load, or do you have no graphics at all? Because you can dis-/enable the loading of images in tools->options->content.

Temo: Re:
Mr. Shumway: I just re installed firefox, and nothing is better! It seems to me that if this new version remembers all of my settings,IE my bookmarks, then it will also remember whatever it is that has not allowed my game graphics to load properly?

I just looked at my tools content and it has everything there check marked, IE Java Java script load images etc... it seems okay to me?
I looked at my toola
