Foxy Lady: well I dont think so as they say it may go pink :( The lemon takes the real sweet taste of the banana off....I might add that when you boil all that together it gets VERY thick...you spread it like peanut butter...it is that sort of consistency
I have learned of many spots were you can find things growing wild:apples(there are many forgotten/overgrown orchards),cranberries, wild rice, elderberries, ramp, mint, etc
oh wow,I love blueberries.there is a provincial park I know.has an area the dept of agro grows concord grapes & cherries.at the right time of year, you can pick as much as you want free.

BerniceC: LOL I know when the farmers plant corn they plant 2 seeds. Now i'm not sure about any other seeds. My husband does the outside also but i have this Pomegrante inside with my houseplants.
I'm gonna have to do more reading on it.
Your on topic but i gotta edit that S word just in case some kiddies read the board.
ScarletRose: Thats what i should of done in the first place.I planted that seed when the Pomegrantes were in season now i gotta wait till around Thanksgiving.
nobleheart:Some varities do but you will find that most don't. I've got 2 varities brown turkey & mrs williams and they don't need the wasp. But you'll find plenty of wasps around if the fruit is left to rippen as they go for the sweet flesh.
nobleheart: Not that i know of my neighbor has a fig tree that they put out in the Summer and it bears the fruit.
Heck i get fruit flies if i leave any fruit out for long.
Dolittle: Oh great,i'd have to plant them in the house they'd never live here.My banana tree is doing great and we put it outside in the Summer.I love to go pick fresh fruit everyday.Maybe i'll move to Fla lol.
Foxy Lady:only problem with a warmer climate is that there are more bugs that want to help you eat all that lovelly fruit. Better to stay in a cooler climate, you get to keep a little more fruit.
skipinnz: My sister has oranges, apples, kumkwats and bananas in her yard no bug problem.I hate them bugs they got down there, their at your door with suitcases.
there is an lonng abandoned overgrown apple orchard I know.one of the tress, the fruit was weird..after closer idenetification,it turned out to be a quince tree.
nobleheart:I believe in the olden days quinces were used to help make the apples go further when making jams. All the old orchards [1800's] all have a quince tree in them
