MadMonkey: You have been given many advices by several persons on this board. Since it's been proven that nothing is wrong on BrainKing side, the rest is up to you.
Pedro Martínez: ahhhhh!!!! Now you tell me!!!! I just lost a game by 2 points because I made my play with only one roll! The other game, I took my turn anyway, but the outcome wasn't in jeopardy.
Czuch Czuckers: I agree Czuch as i said when you first mentioned it, it has happened to me several times and also to at least 2 other players i know of.
BBW: Think we need to think of a better way to roll the dice. Have 2 buttons or something, Roll-1, Roll-2, simple
Fencer: It's simple to avoid really - just add a variable to the request with the roll number or something like that. If that move has already been done, then no need to roll the dice again.
pauloaguia: That's a good point. I know that some people make doubleclicks instead of normal clicks and, of course, the server takes them as two consequent requests.
Czuch Czuckers: Maybe you're double clicking the submit button? That would count as 2 effective rolls. This double click may not be conscious, but some bug in your browser that interprets a move while you click as a new click (one for the hold_down and one for the release button events).
Hrqls: I understand that i could have done this once, but right after I just talked about it, I go to a game and do one roll and it says I am done???? Its just not likely, but hopefully fencers new check will end any more problems.
Czuch Czuckers: it has never happened to me either .. but i did come across something which might look quite similar ..
sometimes when i click on the 'roll dice' button it gives me the same dice again .. then i select the dice again and click on the button again .. sometimes it still shows the same dice after that ..
that way it might look like no roll has happened .. but in my case it was just the statistically correct chance that the dice might show the same numbers again (chance 1/6 per die, 1/36 for 2 dice)
Czuch Czuckers: 1) Pauloaugia is probably right. 2) The mere fact that you are shouting and panicking is not a reason to revert the game moves. It occasionally happens that people see strange or bizarre things, e.g. frogs instead of dice, boards upside down etc. None of these events has been proven as BrainKing's fault. 3) From the site code's point of view, there is no logical situation which would cause what you describe. I've tested this game many times on many different browsers and it never happened to me. Anyway, although it is pointless, I've added one more (and quite redundant) check to the dice roll method, just to ensure that it works correctly (and it does). That's all what I can say to this subject.
pauloaguia: I thought that on the first one, but now since it just happened again, and others have said the same thing, I think it has to be a bug! Thanks for your suggestion though!
Czuch Czuckers: Are you playing them all at once? I mean, if you roll the dice, and then click "Play Later", when the game goes back to you, you won't have so many rolls to do since you already done them. Not saying this is what happened, just trying to help figure it out.
Fencer: There must be some bug that fools the data base, since I went to the game to make a move, rolled the dice once and then it said my rolls were done!
ßăķëď Äłáşķǻñ: I think the map is also cool - and can't wait to see it on the main game site also.
Even though it would be interesting to see who is from what area, I think that would cross the privacy line - where some users may not want others to know where they are from.
Fencer: It worked. Thank you for your response, F. By the way, I think the ice graphics are very good. My problem was that a pawn would not move diagonally after the move 21 freeze, but would move straight. Then the move wouldn't register after I moved, so I would have to keep trying. Anyway, all is good.
Pedro Martínez: I am glad to hear that about the Ice Age. When I try to play out the moves on your game from the beginning, however, nothing shows up when I click the links for the 1st or 2nd moves. Is that the same from your point of view?
I C a tiny red dot for my area, anyway of finding out all the people in my area that play here? Looks like its just 1-9 people? I know i'm one and my wife is one, but would like to find out who the rest are in my area if possible.
I see. My pieces didn't disappear. I just can't send any moves. Well, they send, but then the game appears as though I never sent a move. I'll keep trying different pieces.
emmett: It says right in the thing Fencer wrote that ice reforms after move 20 and you have to break through once again. Also, any piece by itself at that time is frozen and taken off the board. check out brainking.info for Fencer's last post on this.
The only game of Ice Age Chess that was finished ended after one move when one player resigned. I am playing a game of Ice Age Chess, and on move 21 all the squares froze over with ice and now there is some bug with the game. Has anyone made it past move 20 on ice age chess?
MadMonkey: Ah ha funny you should mention, that, but that happened to me as well, seeing as i didnt have a clue with regards to what i ws doing, i jsut assumd that was part of the game LOL oh well!!
And there is the BUG in Cheversi as well. Once there are pieces on the board, and you select another piece to place on the board, watch both scores change, then when you place it on the board they change again Which ones are right i can not be asked to work out, i think it the one when the piece is placed, just a bit worrying where it gets this other score from or is it just random LOL Most odd really
i have my settings so that it shows a random tournament just above my waiting games .. once in a while it doesnt show any tournament though .. about 1/3 of the times i think ?
