streetrodder: when you set a fixed vacation day (in your settings page) then no game will time out on that day (i think it behaves like a weekend day)
if you have automatic vacation turned on .. then you dont have to set a fixed vacation day .. but in case a game would time out on a certain day .. that game will get 24 hours added to its time .. while 1 vacation day is substracted from your remaining total .. if another game would time out on that day as well .. then it will cost no extra vacation day
i think with fixed vacation days all games will have a day added when their period goves beyond that day ... with automatic vacation days only the games that would time out exactly on that day will get 24 hours extra on that day
so when you are sure you will time out on that day you can best use a fixed vacation day as it will help in your other games as well
only use the automatic vacation days for unsuspected problems
do I understand this correctly, that if you have vacation days listed, that they will be used automactically rather than loosing games by timing out.... simply if you are going to loose by timing out will a vacation day be used as long as they are available.... and can I assume that using one vacation day will stop the time outs of all games for that day.... just a new guy askin probably old questions
Hrqls: lol how about 'youre welcome' then? Still spelt correctly but with out the proper punctuation marks.....I miss out the marks quite often when Im typing on here aswell
If anybody gets unwelcome messages from another member, the first thing to do is place them on your blocked users list. If they continue to contact you through another name, or on public boards, game notes etc - contact a global moderator.
Lamby: lol ... i always type 'your welcome'... but not because its a mistake ... just because i dont like to use ' or other 'special' characters except the dot :)
(and simple smileys)
I also have gotten a message from someone that I have never spoken to...it isnt offensive or anything , but I don't want to have anything to do with said person.
Jules: I have been getting the same treatment to. I'd be willing to bet it's the same person. Perhaps we can contact Fencer and have him check the message logs and then remove said person from the site for violating the membership agreement?
Cranky Franky: Because they want to. That's why I feel that if someone is blocking you they should in return be blocked from PM'ing. It would then stop a silly practice which can be time consuming. I have to check my inbox to see if something has come up that needs my attention.
Another word loads of people keep spelling wrong is "You're welcome" short for "You are welcome" instead they spell it "Your welcome" which would mean "My welcome"
It's a real pet hate of mine!
Hi. I was away for a while but am back again at this site I enjoy so much. I have been trying to pay for a knight, but the site, probably wisely, is reluctant to accept American money.
Anyway, I am struck by the decline in vigor of the posts on the message sites, a result - well intentioned, I'm sure - of what seems over-vigorous cencorship.
Frankly, many of the posts that I have read for a few weeks are nicy-nice mush, tedious and almost unreadable.
What's wrong with some honest flaming - after all, it is a game art-form in its own right - and it seems odd that it is forbidden on a game site?
Well, I expect an opinion - hopefully unedited - from Mr. Danoschek, whom I confess I have sometime collaborated with in this most interesting sport.
Best to you all.
hehe i have the same thing when i am typing a text in dutch .. i often type too fast and type down an english word which starts with the same letters ... even when it has a totally different meaning :)
Yea... that's me. I was just posting something on another site, reading through it before I hit "post", and there is was again - "multiply" instead of "multiple" :-)

No, everyone has their own "blind spots" for certain words that we have, out of habit, never corrected ourselves. In my case, it is the word "every" which I am constantly spelling as "very" and "position" which I nearly always spell as "postion".
With you, I have seem "multiply" occur in many, many posts.
First I really like the option of having multiply boards in fellowships now - I also like it that we can offically add any board to the Favourites list, since for myself there are a couple that I like to have quick access to.
I really liked how it was set up earlier, showing all the sub-boards in the fellowship list - without it, the only way to know if there are new post on these sub-boards is to either add them to your favourites list (Way too many for some), or to always visit the fellowships main page. (But I can see how some would not like it.)
I would love to see an option to either have these on or off in settings - or beter yet, right on the main page where the fellowships (?): is listed, have an "Expand" / "colapse" option which will show or not show these sub boards.
Damn now in the favourite boards we can't have the fellowship boards........
Not even the wolf-trick works:
http://brainking.com/game/DoSettings?bsub=1&bc=XXX&ps=$Board&pp=bc$XXX
where XXX is the number of the board.........
Naughty Fencer....! You should bring back this feature.......
