Board for everybody who is interested in BrainKing itself, its structure, features and future.
If you experience connection or speed problems with BrainKing, please visit Host Tracker and check "BrainKing.com" accessibility from various sites around the world. It may answer whether an issue is caused by BrainKing itself or your local network (or ISP provider).

Bwild: I don't know. I forgot to count the percentage. It's a vague term because one part seems to be done, than I get a better idea and rewrite it again. You know, it's like everything is done but nothing is 100% completed. Be patient.
FrancescoLR: Furthermore, if you try to check out Host Tracker test, as it is clearly described at the top of this board, you would know that the current average response time is less than 1 second. It proves that BrainKing is not slow, globally said. We cannot be responsible for local network problems.
rabbitoid: It might be interesting if you post a traceroute output because, of course, my own one is flawless (probably because it does not cross our country border).
I've also tried an online traceroute tool to check the route from some place in the world. Looks like there really is "something on the way":
rabbitoid: If you experience speed issues, I always recommend to visit http://host-tracker.com and check BrainKing accessibility from different places around the world.
Which is what I have just done and it shows that there is no problem in about 65% of tested locations and the rest is showing a "no reply" error message. Since it is definitely a network problem somewhere, there is nothing we can do about it - BrainKing is fast and stable but some network nodes are probably malfunctioning.
ellieoop: I said that it would be done in BrainKing 3.0. When it is finished and released. The job is about 70% done and there is still much work to do.
Nothingness: As furbster says, purchasing Brains is temporarily disabled. New ways of obtaining them will be announced later. Anyway, you can still make prize tournaments and offer memberships instead of Brains.
h657: Well, not exactly, it must be the same position 3 times in a row, not just the same moves (it is not identical in all cases). Furthermore, BrainKing never ends games in a draw automatically, it must be always requested.
GBear58: The color codes don't mean that you get any discount. The price is still the same but after you pay, you will be given some free months as a bonus, up to 125% of the membership you paid for.
Hrqls: I think that I won't wait for BrainKing 3.0 to be completed and release a new (simpler) vacation system much sooner (in a week?). That would solve all problems like this once and forever.
rabbitoid: It will go away. Herlock said it well - "give then one finger, soon they will ask for the whole hand". According to too many improvement requests, the vacation system became so complicated that not even me understood it all times. Simplicity is what we want to achieve.
Herlock Sholmes: Hmmm. You are right that vacations are making problems, however we cannot remove the whole vacation system only because there are people who don't like it. It is always easier to play games/tournaments with no vacation time control because no global rule can be suitable for everyone, of course.
Anyway, the tournament system is to be rewritten for the new BrainKing version and I am sure that nobody would be able to misuse it any longer. Who would expect that 8 years ago?
My point is that BrainKing is a quite complex system with all major features connected one another, which means that a significant change of one of them would probably affect everything else and it is always a risky decision. That's why everything is being rewritten simultaneously and everything will be released at the same time.
Meanwhile, although I admit that there are users who make problems and continuously try to find out how to complicate BrainKing experience to other users, there is always a good workaround as a temporary solution. It does not mean that we want to leave it as it is forever.
Mousetrap: The approve mode is just one of access modes applied to all discussion boards, public or private. Actually it is kind of useless in fellowships but, for some reason, I forgot to disable it at all. It does not make any harm, anyway.
alilsassy: Members with expired membership are not kicked out because many of them usually renew it later and they like to restore their fellowship list automatically instead of rejoining them one by one. And as long as they are pawns, they cannot use any fellowship functions, including discussion boards. Or at least that's how I think it should be working.
MadMonkey: Hey, take it easy man! It's just games, nothing serious, huh?
Furthermore, there was no downtime of the site itself and I saw about 100 online users all the time (today). Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for a DNS servers malfunction which caused a temporary non-existence of brainking.com domain in several parts of world. However, it was resolved in 3 or 4 hours, so it was really not a big issue.
Anyway, in case it happens again (which should not), try to use 81.91.83.6 instead of brainking.com. IP address should always work.
Bernice: How many merchants with no PayPal problems you actually know? Of course, since their policy is to attracts as many customers as possible, people who only pay usually don't have any issues.
