Asunto: I'm not sure but is that problem
being fixed by BK 2.0? Curious. I'm not sure if that is actually "cheating" since it's a move that is allowed under the BK programming. It's possible for someone to make such an "illegal" move without even being aware of it. I know what you mean tho, it's an official Backgammon rule that would normally be followed if the program were set correctly.

Asunto: cheating in backgammon..
there can be illegal moves in bacvkgammon here... where the problem with the dice not enforcing one of the rules of backgammon.. where if you can move both dice you must and if only one.. then the larger die must be played if it can..

Can someone cheat at Backgammon? I don't think it's yet possible but I could be wrong.

Asunto: Re: Can people cheat at Backgammon?
We have been over this subject over and over again. Cheating is wrong. IF someone has to cheat to win at games which pay you nothing to win, then that someone is pathetic and basically is cheating themselves. If I know from someone an opponent is a cheater I will not play that person any longer. There really is nothing at stake to make it worth cheating. Play, have fun, make a few new friends and good luck in all honest games.

Asunto: Can people cheat at Backgammon?
I know they can at checkers and chess. It's not a huge issue. It's on the table to be addressed and will in its turn. It's not the number one priority for Fencer. Cheating isn't rampant is my guess.

Asunto: ! The Ladder Fellowship !
I have renamed my Scrabble Fellowship to ! The Ladder Fellowship !

This is due to all the hard work Stevie & Aragon have put into designing a web-site dedicated for Ladder games.
It also has loads of other things to take part in & use there (Forums, Free Downloads, Games etc...).
All the ladder games will be played here on BrainKing except for the scrabble games (on Bug cafe), so as well as watching your ratings here change, you can try and climb the ladders (or fall off the bottom LOL).

So anyone interested in playing on a Ladder, just come along to ! The Ladder Fellowship !

Asunto: Cheaters
I dont know what type you are on about SOD.
Fencer can only tackle 1 kind of cheaters though, thats the multi ID ones.
He cant tell if someone is using programmes etc, all that can be done about them is everyone needs to be made aware of them.
And also in the rules of the site/FAQ, he needs to mention something about we are not aloud to use them. Then we can name and shame etc, or they will say they didnt know otherwise and get away with it.

Name names and get the "bad" people out in the open, so all of us can avoid, OR, Fencer needs to eliminate these people from this site for the good of all and let this site grow and prosper!!!!

Asunto: i will say this after the trouble we had had
Fencer is bouncing on people for saying things he dont agree with...that is great, but BUT and BUT it is a bit late...when the ole ROFLM*AO was said on nearly every board....nothing was said or done...it wasnt until certain people decided that they had had enuff was something done.
I have found since the Steve/MM thing that people are starting to be afraid of what they say....
this dont make for somewhere you can relax...
people are not being themselves even on boards where "language" used to be OK...

Im not one for filthy language etc but we have members on here that have been posters of filth and now are being absolute d---wits about their morals....wake up and get on with life..

In due time everything will be fixed, and I commend you BUT, before more bells and whisles are added to this site's CHEATING HAS TO STOp AND NOW!! It's Not fair to paying membners and not fair to future paying members....PERIOD!!!!! This Problem needs to be addressed before more is added Brainking. Keep this site as fair and honest as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It shouldn't be allowed on this site in ay form!!! IT happened to me on another game site and now I haear there ar those who have experienced on this site..Fencer, if you have a way of stopping it, please do so immediately! A game is to be played as a game. Each game has a winner and a loser. Please keep your game site played in goood fun!!!! You've come a long way and I personally wish the best for this sie in the future!!!!

Related to my last question about the 'go to next' option.... I know BK 2 will be different, but if a game is at the top of my list, and I hit the play later opton, that game should not continue to come to the top of my list...I may want to play all of my games except a few, which I need more time on. As it works now, I have to skip over those games after every move, to get to a game I want to play...
Play later should mean just that, later, not right after my next move....

Just a thought :)

Me thinks, with all the plans that are around now, you are on the wrong one ... even dsl might be competitive whe you add up call cost, ISP + $20 ... send me a pm if you would like to know more ... W:)

Asunto: another stupid Q?
is there anyway BK2 can allow us to set our preferences to what we get on our main BK page...

I do not need all the links on the left hand side and all i want on the right hand side are the "favourite Boards"

I dont know how the "international" ISP's work but I have a monthly download of 500Megs...since I have been playing seriously on BK i have exceeded this by about $20 per month. that is a charge of .17c per meg (i think)...so confusing

i dont want to see all of every page..ON EVERY PAGE...Im going to post this so i can see if im making sense LOLOLOLOL

IOW, as it was told to me a while back, first up is 'the one in which it has been your turn the longest'.

But if you're getting a game popping in ahead of the others, then I don't see how this is possible. :/

16. Abril 2004, 23:46:19
Kevin
Their listed in the order of "Go to next game" - sorted by your opponent's last move (the game in which your opponent moved the longest time ago will appear at the top).

16. Abril 2004, 23:32:23
Czuch
Does anyone know... When you use the 'move and go to' link when playing a game, how is the order of the games listed determined?

It seems the same game keeps returning to the top of the list, and I constantly have to skip it over it. They are not listed in the same order as they are on my main page. The only thing I can think of is the y are listed by the start date of the game?
Thanks for any help :)

I like the idea of putting the number of fellowship messages on the fellowship public boards down next to the fellowship names in the fellowship section, IF:

You can click the little red number and go to the board, BUT clicking the name will still send you to the main fellowship page. :)

Bernice, If you mean you want to play the games that are closesst to timing out, Click on "Time Left" column, and your main page will then be arranged according to the games that have the least time left. Clicking on any of the column headings there changes the way your games are listed.
If this isn't what you meant, I'm sorry.

:-)

is there any way that i can arrange my games on my main game pages in order of HAVING NEED TO BE PLAYED...
playing the most urgent and able to leave the longer movers for later.....it isnt that i would want to hold anybody up but it really annoys me to have to look thru ALL games to find which need to be played first????????

If you go to message box click send message, and if the person is on your friends list you can send a message that way pretty fast, if they arent in your friends list just type their name is and the database finds it for you

Asunto: this has probably already been suggested
but it would be nice to be able to send a message to someone without having to go to their profile page...something like "msg" next to their name...the profile pages take so long to load.

I second that idea. It sure would make our main page less cluttered looking and faster access to those boards we want to get to the quickest.

Here is what I would like to see when if comes to fellowships & Favourite boards.

In the FELLOWSHIP list (which is below the Favourite boards list on my screen), I would love to see the (X new) message next to there when there are new messages in the fellowship. (And if you click on the (X new) directly, it will take you to the board to read.)

Why would this be good:
1) You don't have to have every fellowship that you belong to also on the favourite boards list - basicly listing all my fellowships I belong to twice. (the fellowship in the fellowship list, and the fellowship board in the favourite boards list)
2) Many times, users forget to add the boards to their favourite list - this way they don't have too, they will hopefully see the (X new) message and come see what has been posted.
3) It would then (for me at least) allow me to remove all the fellowship boards from my favourite list, allowing only "system" boards to be there - which would help seperate "System" boards and "fellowship" boards.
