thisbeme: Well, unless you plan on renewing, I think you can pretty much assume all of those tournaments on your "open" list, will all be tournies you will be removed from.
Aganju: Me too! Somtimes, when I went quickly from one back-/nackgammon game to another, I got the same dice roll again. I wasn't sure if it is a bug, it may have been coincidence. But if others observe it too, there must be something about it.
I generally don't trust the dice generation on BK very much.
There is a way to solve this topic: by using a CSPRNG (cryptographically secure pseudorandom number generator). It is surprisingly easy to program one by using a block cipher like XTEA and encrypt a counter value to obtain random numbers, with a secret key. The code may be published so that the users know that the random number generation is well programmed. The random numbers cannot be predicted, though, if the key is kept secret. One might even use a different key for every game and publish the key after the game has ended, so that the users can check if the random numbers in their game have been created correctly.
Again I have reason to mistrust the randomness of dice roll. I just played 9 backgammon games in a row, and all 9 opponent had a 6-6 roll . Nine in a row, without anything else in between. Does anyone believe this is pure chance? Two days ago, I had a streak of 5 such 6-6 rolls (didn't complain about that one, though). Generally, I have the feeling if you play fast enough, you can get the same roll again in the next game, for about 10 to 15 seconds. So whenever I have a nice double roll, I hurry really up to play, as I can manage to 'roll' the same double in the next three or four games. Try it, if you don't believe it. And if a roll is bad, like 1-2, I typically wait ten secs until I press 'Send Move'. I remember Fencer claims that the current server milliseconds are used for the randomizing; there could be an error in the code there, and it uses the single digit seconds instead? or some other error. Re-Randomizing for every roll is not a good solution anyway; there are much better ways to make good random numbers (my Minor topic in my masters degree was 'Random Number Generation'; it was a while ago, but I still remember some things).
Asunto: Vacation days when paid membership runs out
I think this subject has been discussed before, but I was under the impression that the bug had been fixed:
When someone lets their paid membership run out, it seems as if they're rewarded with another 10 vacation days because they are now a pawn. I don't think this is the way it is intended to work?
Gabriel Almeida: Yes. Although it is not officially documented, a Black Rook purchased with a red code can be duplicated and the owner can give to another user, use it as a tournament prize etc. Of course, he cannot sell it back to BrainKing and except us to pay 360 EUR for it. Bonuses are not refundable.
thisbeme: You can trust in me... buy a Black Rook Membership, and you'll receive another and can do with it what you wish: sell, give, change for tournaments prizes... Fencer will accept it. And other players have already buy a Black Rook Membership with that logik, with a red code: 2 BR for the price of 1.
Fencer can, certainly, confirm what Im saying. Is that right, Fencer?

thisbeme: On the paid member page, there is a drop-down menu. For 36 Euros, you get 12 months white brain rook, plus whichever applicable color bonus. For 360 euros, you get the "forever" black rook, and then you are done... bonuses do not matter at that point.... IF you are only buying for yourself... I see what Gabriel is saying... you can get another black rook forever and gift it to someone. I can not confirm nor deny if that is true... I trust Gabriel is correct then.

thisbeme: No, the bonus codes are not "Forever" Black rooks. They are white rooks... red code = 2 years of white rooks. Purple code = 1 year + 3 months. Other codes = 1 year + whatever %. However, if you purchase every single bonus code, then you will get the black rook bonus (forever).
thisbeme: Red Bonus it's ok... 2 memberships forever. That's correct. You can offer the other one. Or you both (you and some other person) can buy it together, so it's similar to a 50% discount!
MadMonkey: I did a test tonight, and went through and only had 10 pawn games to move on, and they all came up, one right after other, using "move and go to next game with non paying member". Then, when they were done, it went to main page, as expected.
HOWEVER, I noticed that once I started then moving on my games, every time I submitted a move, it went to the next game with a rook (or whatever), instead of going to the Main Page. (I hadn't changed the default action).
So, I wonder if there's any connection.
So, what I found with "Move and go to next game with non paying member" 1. If it is from pawn game, and there is another pawn game it goes to another pawn game 2. If it is from a pawn game, and there is NOT another pawn game, it goes to Main page 3. If it is from a Rook game, and there is not a pawn game, it continues to just go to next rook games (or whatever level), without going back to Main Page.
I didn't get to test it, but I think #4 would be If it is from a Rook game, and there IS a pawn game, it would go to a pawn game, fine.
To me, all are as expected, except #3. To me it should go to the Main Page in that case, to be consistent.
rod03801: This is part of the problem. One of my Pawns moved earlier, and i went to play the next one, and it went back to Main page, so that worked, BUT it does not always do that
MadMonkey: Could it be that happens when you are out of "non paying members " to move with? I haven't run into that problem yet, but I also haven't used that option as much as I usually do, lately. I've been pretty busy, so have been moving in order of time out most of the time.
Fencer: Although i thought the 'Move and goto....' were working correctly, the:
go to the next game with a non-paying member does work, but seems to have a bug in it, though i can not work out what
A few times recently, i have noticed myself playing Rooks when using that option, BUT its very intermittent, so unless you can notice the problem in the code i think it will be hard to track.
fukuhara: Maybe more than 13 people have already bought the red code. The list you show is only of people who earned the red code bonus achievement in the last few days. Some people may have earned the red code achievement long ago, and then renewed their membership within the last few days buying the red code, and they will not reappear on the achievement list (because they already have it).
fukuhara: Not quite, as some people have taken advantage of a certain code but have already previously got the achievement! So it is still a bit of a mystery ;o)
