the captured pieces in checkers still show up with the old set (a pawn, a king, etc) not the new round pieces...
At least I still get the pawns, up there... or maybe it's a cache thingie (I've refreshed the page severall times already).

my web got struck by lightening last night, i called msn and asked about purchasing a new one. they said on Oct 1st. the new webs will be for sale for 199.00, they will be java friendly and you can get fast speed hook-up with your cable or phone comp., i think he said dsl, is that right? i posted it here cause i thought fencer and all the web tv users would like to know about it.

If I could make a suggestion. Have who ever created them resave then in their graphics program using the darkest colour on the checker board as a background colour, then they wont have such a bright white chunky edge around them.. Just my 2 cents.

I am listed as 94th in the 5 in line ratings, yet at the top of the page it says I'm in position 103, and it also says that on my main page. Any idea why please?
*edit* hmm, interesting, when I look at page 1 of ratings, position is 103, when I 'go to this page' it again says position 103, but ofcourse I'm not there.. then when I look at page 2 where I'm in the correct position, it does actually say the correct position at the top of the page too !?!

Ratings are funny, look at the number of games considered then add up the broken down games, the totals rarely match.

Wow, I did not even know about the Golden Rooks

And I just noticed if you put your mouse cursur over the "Rook" or icon next to a persons name, it will show where they are from, and if they are Male or Female.

my reasoning behind that is....
you get refered by new member, you get brains
you donate or pay for prizes you get nothing, so maybe the icon change should be used there also

No. It has nothing to do with donations, Brains, prize tournaments etc. Bad Bishop has come with this idea and offered the price, I've accepted it. In order to make it fair to him, the conditions should be similar for everyone.

Bringing back an idea that I had a long time ago - different "color" type icons to show different support level. (Since if Money is what is needed for this site, some will donate extra money just to get an extra little symbol next to their ID)

You could have Red rooks, blue rooks, bronze, silver, gold, or even a cool multi color rainbow rook -- all meaning different extra support for this site.

why do you make an issue of this all of a sudden now?
Seems you were quite content until you found out that someone had offered to donate 10 Euro per month extra to have a golden rook.
This is substantially more than a couple of prize tourneys here and there.

It leads one to ask, why did you run prize tourneys in the first place? what was your goal?

I currently have one running with 2 6 month rook memberships and I have already paid the cost of the memberships to Fencer. You dont see me getting all flstered about this do you?
