Hello, please explain me one thing:
a draw between 2 players with 300 points will add zero points to both players?
thanks

17. Noviembre 2004, 00:34:27
Nuno Miguel
I meant less than 300 points...
thanks

Nuno: I sent you a reply to the Gothic checkers board.

I posted this 2 days ago on this board:

1st: "unrated" players actually have ratings - just you don't see them until 4 games are played.

2nd: Ratings takes many things to figure a rating: Your rating, your oppenets ratings, how many games you played, and how many games your oppenent played.

3rd: Until 25 games are played (Well actually until 100+ games are played), ratings will fluxuate a lot. That is why it is a "provisional" rating until 25 games are played. I actually heard it can take up to 400 games before a rating is actually set pretty well.

4th: Even if you don't see ratings change, it may change. For example, before a game it may be 1500.1, then after the game it could be 1500.4 - but since you only see the "1500", it looks like it does not change... even though it does.

5th: How the formula works, it is even possible to lose points when you win! (When you don't have many games played, etc...) But I believe Fencer made it so you never lose points for a win, so at those times your rating will actually stay the same.

Anyway, in short - ratings will do very funny things until you get many games under your belt. At least 25 games, but probable more then 100 games is needed before your ratings will settle down.

Thanks BBW, but i think that is not the answer that i'm looking for...
In froglet, I draw 3 games with players in the same conditions like i said before, (without having the 25 played and lower ratings too) and the ratings didn't changed for both players. So, i don't understand why did it happend now if our gap rating was 234 points before the game ends.
Thanks

sorry i wasnt back sooner .. got caught up in work ... silly eh .. they should forbid making you work at your job :)

i was talking about battleboat and espionage games where the whole games is about an unknown setup ... i started some battleboat games already before i knew about the private part

in 1 game i have a note showing to my opponent .. quite funny .. i told myself where he would go in the next few moves and what my responses would be ... it was like i foretold him what to do .. he obeyed :) .. i guess i typed it in the wrong box though :)

What you think of create a Discussion board of Flame Wars!
There are people who likes jokes, who likes music, I like Flame Wars, so why not?

Bad Bishop you are with me?

what is the 'interview' ?

17. Noviembre 2004, 16:24:13
Crook
Uhm, I wouldn't be able to fight any flame wars without ocassion. There was (or maybe still there is) a fellowship Fight Club. I read it a while but I think it was rather boring...

But a Discussion board with the possibility to post "dirty jokes" and use "all words that we know" is definitely a good idea. Fencer, would you please kindly create a DB "liquid-manure reservoir" or "no censorship - for adults only" or something like that? :-)

there are fellowships for those type boards as well..

I would be really hard to call this a family site if boards such as that were accessible to childrens eyes.. That is why a lot of fellowships were created.. so the boards wouldn't be easily accessed..

I have to wonder if paulo gnomes is as young as he says he is...if he has parental permission to be on this site.
The reason for censership on "public" boards(in my understanding) is because of youngsters playin games where mom and dad dont know.
maybe I'm wrong.

C'mon, people, my daughter loved "Natural Born Killers" at the age of ten, she knows many dirty jokes and she use a lot of the four letter words. Neverthless she was the best in her class on an elite high school (gymnasium) and she studies on the university. :-)

I dont think being "portuguese" has anything to do with using bad language.

Yes, more "adult" jokes can be found at: BADINAGE

Since this is a world wide website, people from different cultures play at this site, so to be safe for everyone, rude/bad language should be kept off all public boards. At one time, Fencer said ALL boards, but he does let PRIVATE fellowship boards get away with more since they are not open to everyone.

I'll allow some rude jokes in Nooks and Crannies ~ but as for bad language, I don't think nationality comes into it.

Since this game site is visited by many people of many languages, and bad language of any language should be kept off the public boards. Even though it may not be bad to many who read it, like you said - it can be bad to others.

Also as a side note, BADINAGE currently does not have an active BIG BOSS - so if you try to join, it may take a day or so before we can get someone to do that job.

17. Noviembre 2004, 16:46:37

there is a difference between rude language and 'adult' jokes.

Asunto: bad words
To keep out the bad words you had to make a multilanguage dictionary..not only english, because someone can insult me in Czech or German and I wouldnt know..I believe thats kinda impossible, but if you want to continue with this... for instance: I can send you all to "caralho"...But I will not.

Both are pawns now so can't be a BIG BOSS of the fellowship - but I guess it probable would be their choice of who can be BIG BOSS.

Asunto: Violent movies and kids
Why let kids view these movies so early in their lives? Can't ppl just let kids be kids before they have to see how miserable the world is? I don't understand parents who allow kids to see such violent movies at such a young age.

17. Noviembre 2004, 17:35:59

its simple..when I was a kid my parents were watching Alien. I was with them, and I almost didnt see anything because I always closed my eyes. But if it didnt impress me, I would have seen the movie. Nobody obligates the children to watch violent movies...If they watch it its because tehy dont dilslike it, other wise they will close their eyes to
