(V):   I back up my "they are idiots" with facts and logical arguments.  Dismissing someone as an "idiot" but offering no reason is name calling.   Case in point:  A leading "idiot" democrat was quoted as saying that he didn't read the bills he voted for because they are a: too many pages; and b: too difficult to understand.

They guy's an idiot.  Do the math.  He's voting YES on bills he's NEVER READ and he justifies never reading those bills saying they are too difficult to understand.

BTW, they are idiots on both sides of the isle.  In the final analysis, Bush was an idiot.  Why?  He violated nearly every Conservative principle.  He's responsible for the huge government as it started with him.  Huge government systems spell fraud, incompetence, waste, and inefficiency.

You'd have to be an idiot not to see the difference.

Übergeek 바둑이:  All nonsense.  Beck doesn't like Obama's policies.   Obama's being black has nothing to do with it.  You play the race card and I've no respect for that.

You have to be blind to suggest Van Jones was "smeared."  HOW exactly did Beck accomplish this?  All Beck did was to quote Van Jones, play tapes of Van Jones's own speeches and ask questions.

You don't have your facts straight about ACORN.  There is no doctored video.  You have no evidence of that.  You are just parroting some nonsense you've read.  You will see.  ACORN will lose in this suit.  Odd that for a doctored video all the people involved on ACORN's side were fired by ACORN.

Get your facts straight.  ACORN has been caught in election fraud, over 30 of their people have been charged in election fraud, one of it's founders is now under investigation for embezzlement, and on more than one occasion, ACORN officials assisted in getting housing for the sole purpose of under age prostitution.

Wise up.

Obama's health care plan is now at it's lowest level of approval.  His little bump didn't last.  And finally he spoke up regarding Acorn.  I'll bet some of the Dems try to save that corrupt organization.  I hope it goes the way of the dinosaur.

Asunto: Re: Isn't that living upto a pre-election promise??
(V):  No.  Obama's bait and switch has to do with the whole package he presented and not just his health care idea.

Obama said (as far as I read) that he would work towards reducing
Healthcare costs by about $2.5K.

But he hasn't detailed how that will happen.  It's just a theory now.  And likely it will cost the US taxpayer tons.  The government never has run a public service well.

As such, making the market for
healthcare more competitive, cutting down on fraud,

Yeah.  One has to wonder why now?  Congress has allowed the fraud to go on and on and now they are going to fix it?   Guess they were saving that one for a rainy day.

Asunto: Re:
(V):  It's not surprising that a high percentage of Democrats favor his "plan."   And it's true that he's clarified some of his ideas in his speech (which I DID watch in full).  Still, there are many unanswered question.  But back to your original claim.  You suggested that people ought not to be surprised with what Obama is doing as president because they knew of these things since he explained them in his campaign.  It's your assertion that's in dispute and others have said you were wrong in your analysis.  Obama didn't clarify anything in his pre-election speeches.  Few knew what he stood for.  It's becoming clear now that Obama wants to fundamentally change America.  That's why people are going crazy.  The budget experts are telling us (the people) that Obama's plans will only raise taxes and increase the deficit by billions (if not trillions).  There's no other way it can be paid for.  Obama can't explain how this will all work other than to speak in generalities and ambiguities.

BTW, the polls show him losing ground, not gaining it.

Jules, Obama didn't ever really outline the details of his plan.  He gave some general ideas and revealed his "big picture" but not the details.  Many questions have gone unanswered.

Also, Obama was put in the White House by the Independents.  Those same people are now scratching their heads because they are beginning to see the clear descrepencys between what was pre-election promises and post-election reality.  It's not the Right that's opposing his health care ideas, it's the Right, AND the Middle and those folks include many in his own party.

(V):  Yes I listened to his speech.  And keep in mind that he's been in office more than 200 days.  More than enough time to have already clearly outlined his plan.  He still hasn't.  He hasn't outlined how it's actually going to be paid for or how it will look logistically.  He speaks in sound bites.  A speech is fine, but there IS NO WRITTEN PLAN to examine.   Obama wants to build the airplane after it's taken off.

Also with Fox, we couldn't see Barney Frank and O'Reilly have a shouting match or see Glen Beck cry.  And all them smart blonds on Fox....Megan Kelly especially.  lol

Asunto: Re: Absolute rubbish. He was ELECTED by the people of America on the basis of his policies as stated before the election.
V:  Like all Presidents, Obama was elected because people like him personally and like the policies he outlines.  However, Obama was elected on more myth than on substance.  He NEVER fully defined his presidency.  Contrary to your assertion, Obama NEVER clearly stated his policies.  And he certainly NEVER outlined his plan for health care.  Obama is the master of ambiguity.   He still hasn't clearly defined his health care plan.  Even members of his own party have different ideas.   For example, Obama says that the goal is NOT a single payer system.  But key democrats say that a government option IS THE LOGICAL STEPPING STONE to a single payer system.   He did not campaign on the single payer option.  In fact, Obama campaigned as a centrist.  He's governing to the left -farther left than his centrist democratic colleagues.  So in fact, obama  was NOT ELECTED by the people of America on the basis of his policies as stated before the election.

Those that can say yes to the above don't think straight in my view.  Hard work gets all of those things.  I grew up in a family of 9 and the only thing that was ever handed to me was a mop to clean up and my brothers old clothes.
