Gabriel Almeida: This is a 3-3 game involving one of our Tiger Club players. Fencer may not recognize a 3-3 draw since he is not an expert at checkers.
Some games are clearly draws and even after 100 moves they will still be draws. If one player refuses to accept the draw offer it is poor sportmanship in my opinion. Does anybody know BK's remedy for this?
I'm not sure what the initials stood for but it was an elite group of highly skilled players who dominated the internet. I was able to assemble players who were to form the early KM and defeat all the GST players. We had Sartex, Usurper, Ronco, ZymetteBadbrain, Ustica, Nomad and a few others. But they were tough as nails..especially their best players.
gooner: Absolutely. Our game needs to be promoted. I know many former teen "prodogies" who have quit playing competively altogether. Something is turning them off. There is too big a gap between the champions and the next level down. Some of these pro's from Barbados won't play you for less than $500.
gooner: There are quite a few very good players we would like to recruit but they are scattered and not on any one fellowship. There was an awesome international team on IYT called GST (I think those were the initials) but I don't know if they are still there.
Nomad: I agree. It can be great fun to speculate if Ron King can beat Alex or how would Wylie or Anderson do against today's top players. We can compare ability without calling any of them drunks, cheaters, scoundrels etc. LOL. Then this board will be being used to it's best value.
DMatt: I don't remember anyone attacking you here for some time and your posts are welcome insofar as they relate to checkers and not to pointing out the real or imagined dark side of other players here.
Andre Faria: The mentioned name was deleted along with the poster. "Cheating", programs, KM etc is not checkers. It's flaming and there is zero tolerance for it. This is not something we are going to take up space debating...people come here to read about checkers. Nuff said.
This DB is for discussion of checkers and not peripheral inflammatory subjects and especially where people are mentioned by name. We will not debate, argue or discuss this..we will just delete the post and if it continues ban the poster. Checkers only please.
If you are highly skilled at checkers the Tiger club would like to talk to you. We have the most awesome collection of talent on the internet assembled there since the days of the Killing Machine. We are assembling the very best players on BK to form the top checker team. While we like anyone to join the fellowship, chat about checkers and learn the game the team itself is to consist of highly skilled players. Apply if interested. Thank you.
gooner: Well said. And Old 14 has been part of published play for so long that many people move it like book but have no connection to computer programs. I don't like the openning myself.
Quite some time ago I gave my opinion as to who was the very best checker player on Brainking..based on years of experience. It was then and is now none other than Ustica. Congrats on the BKR.
Socrates: I agree and as you know George is a household word in the checkers community for good reason. And Richard was winning his first Masters and writing books on checkers when most of us were in knickers.
ustica: Indeed. It is no exaggeration to say Richard Fortman can be mentioned in the same breath with Tinsley, King and the greatest players of the last 40 years. It is an honor to have you here and I hope we can have a game.
Socrates: It would be outstanding if we could interest her to come here and treat us to a few on line games with our best players..Miller, yourself, Trice and Ustica to name a few. How much we could learn.!!
SOCRATES: His name is transfusion. Says he's a 60 yr old man who reads checker books which he names. His smother game was so many moves ahead it was uncanny..and I moved real fast which seldom works against a good player. I know of the Ulevator guy you're talking about..he is working real hard at dominating the site. I never played him but his record looks pretty imposing for someone who came out of nowhere. (whatever the reason) but he is playing ustica so we'll see how he does there. He won't beat ustica..take that to the bank!
