i find this contest is truely unfair to some of the players 1)if you have firefox you can not geet the secret points 2)i have notice today that those that do get them are getting them 2 n 3 times aday when in the rules it says once aday except under special circ 3 time is special how it just make me think i'm playing a losing battle
Jason: if i click on it then it turns on the last 2 items of the 'show banner adds' settings
Show banner ads: [ ] on the top of pages [v] on the bottom of pages [v] at the right column
after that i dont get the message anymore. do you click on the word 'here' or on the words 'action points' ? you have to click on the word 'here' in the message
"Your current settings do not allow you to receive Action Points. Click here to fix it." ,why do i keep getting this message , i have alrady clicked on it a few times lol
LionsLair: Just to modify a bit the "useless" (not really useless) info, this is August, and the number of players preferring to grill a bit in the sunshine instead of hacking at a keyboard may not be negligible.
BIG BAD WOLF: so, 10-12 years down the road these players are still on the list? ...doesn't make much sense, but if that's the reasoning behind it... I never thought of the last action link... made things much easier for my research, thanks... :o) ...here's just some quick facts I found... ...4,225 players have not moved since this date last year( leaving 26,202 that have) ...18,606 players have not made a move in 2006(leaving 11,821 that have) ...25,479 players have not moved in the last month( 4,948 have) ...26,499 have not moved in two weeks(3,928 have) ...and 26,745 have not mved in the last week( 3,682 have) ....what do these #'s mean, not much, but it answered my question of approximately how many serious gamers play here.... drawing the line at two weeks without playing, that leaves about 4,000 players that play on a regular basis.... :o) strange and useless info I know, but it could be helpful when setting time parameters(limits) for games...
LionsLair: One of the reasons is that BrainKing keeps a history of all past games - so when you start to delete players from the database, their games that are attached to those games start to mis-match and such.
Which I'm sure there are ways to get around it and such, but the much simpler solution is just not delete them.
In the players list, you can sort by the last action to easly see how many "active" players are still on the site and such if you are looking for those typs of stats.
why does the player list not ever get updated to the point that registered players, after having not moved in 3-4 years, get dropped from the list? ...out of the first 300 or so registered users, only 50 or so still play or played within the last 2 months... ...I think after a year or so, they should be dropped from the list, as they may never sign in and play, there are probably a million reasons why... ...one particular ID I know of is one I created, when I wanted to test a 10 game theory... I tested 10 games and quit playing... since I have forgotten the password and or the email address I used when creating it... I know it hasn't been played in 3+ years... and I have no desire to use anymore... ...these ID's (stagnant for a year or so) could be eliminated, or put into two lists( archived players, and active players)... ...I'm sure there are many such ID's as mentioned, and would be easier to see just how many serious players are here at BK... without inflating the #'s... ...any thoughts?...
I would think the majority of people on here do have kids that play,, like me for instance, but still find the time to have some fun on here getting action points.
I talk to my friends they come first in my book the points don't bother me, if I want a membership i'll just buy one. I haven't the time for these points even though I think it's cool thing Fencer has done
Give me a hand here please.I have a game on my sheet that hasnt moved in almost two months. Its set on the auto vacation but its only a 3 day game. Also this person hasnt played a game since June.Whats up with this?Thanks...MULEMUFFINS
Print it out and it stick up next to the monitor. It'll help solve that second dilemma by keeping you focused on BrainKing and away from the distraction of work! ;o)
BIG BAD WOLF & Pedro Martínez : Yes, I know I can do that. I don't want to turn it off, remove it, or hide it. I like it. I just don't like it so big that I can't see my game list.
With the "Server News" section on the main page... It is soo large that I cannot see my games. I like the monthly actions so I don't want to turn it off...but...I want to be able to see my games without having to scroll all the time. I was wondering if it could be summerized with a link to see all the details?
