Although the play later and the select game features now work correctly, I still can't "play and move to the next game" to the next game that has been played more recently. Moreover, the javascript list of games (from the red number next to the main page) still shows the first 30 games within a game page, but only shows the first 5 and then "..." in the main page. I know it maybe asking a lot, since some bugs had to be solved on the last days, but could this options be independently controled (before the update, I had my main page showing 5 games, but had 30 in the javascript menu)

Edit: It seems in the fora page, it also shows more than 5, so it may be a "main page" bug

beach: I suggest opening up enough tabs to see each 100 game page. Then you can see all of your games, and play whomever you choose. You may or may not need to refresh the page manually when you go back to an old tab.

Anyway, that is the best work-around that I can think of for your problem.

beach: Right now I can suggest to wait for the next update. I think that I can add more parameters to the filter.

thanks fencer for making the main page work again, but I still cannot get to the 5 and 7 day games without having to call up different pages, I tried the game filter that option doesn't work to get me to see those games either any suggestions? Only way I see I could get to them easily is if the main page was able to be to set to a great number then 100 perhaps 500 would solve the problem just a thought

Anyway, the choose game feature works for me.

I did read the blog but...further to below...after I have moved I use the drop down menu to "choose" which game I want next (altho it doesnt show all gmes)...no way...it goes back to the top of the list ....HATE THIS...I want to play whom I want to play, when I want to play :(

Am wondering if that, in your tweaking of things, you could tweak it so that the Globals and Board mods lose their ability to use their moderating functions. Then, I can post a few mischievous
things on the boards without the threat of trouble. Hmmmm, or just tweak things so that I alone an unmoderable (a new word - maybe it's unmoderatable ).

Artful Dodger: The thing is, getting a refund doesn't mean that you got a great deal. You could still have paid through the nose. In reality the only thing that you know when you get a tax refund is that you screwed up and had too much deducted from your taxes, and you got screwed.

I have no compaints because:

A. It will do little good.
B. Things will improve in the long run.
C. After things are improved, I'll be happy with the improvements and won't remember what I was upset over anyway. I have about a 2 days remembering system. Ask my wife.
D. And I just finished my taxes and I had to pay. Lots.




Paying the government more money is a huge annoyance.

Fencer: Some people, like me, don't say anything but read them. All is clear for me and I think that this information was necessary so as to avoid to point bugs out.

just registering my displeasure at the new options... I like the old options of the drop down boxes :(

beach: I'm sure that fencer is working on it; it is in my opinion the worst of the new bugs. Aside from being obnoxious, it means that some opponents won't be moving very often in those "7 day" games that you were talking about.

I won't be accepting anything but short time limits until this is fixed for that very reason. That includes both private games and tournaments.

Yes, I have overlooked this one, mostly because I don't use that feature so I forgot we had it here. It will be easily fixed.

one question though(for fear of being called lazy cause I dont read the blahblogs) ...is there a setting for the number of your turn games? seems I have to scroll through pages now,and it also affects my go to drop box.

alexlee: I would like to the see the move to main page working again, I like to be able to see the list not just automatically go to the next game, hopefully that function comes back when fencer is finished now I keep getting the same game on top and I play games with different time limits so I don't want to automatically go to the time with the least amount of time and never get to play the 7 day games until they reach the top

Plus, be sure you log in to the right place. The "self registration" area fools some people into thinking that's where you log in. It's actually way below that, under the past comments.

Perhaps a side effect of the change, is that you temporarily can't change the listing to LESS than the 100 max.

Doris: Thank you. That's exactly what I meant. It is likely that people find out that some functions don't work properly but the most important functionality (play games) is not affected by any changes. It would be too risky to make too many changes as a one big update, and bugs are always around. Good news is that I am aware of most of them and it should not take too much time to fix them.

I read the blog first thing when I logged in. I expected to see some problems...but as of yet, I have not encountered any in my regular game playing. I think Fencer is doing a wonderful job on keeping this site in good shape and I thank him for all his hard work in doing so. I am sorry that some people are having problems but please be patient and don't be too quick to criticize.

crosseyed: If it is boring, than no other response would be useful to you. The purpose of blog posts is to summarize all important information at one place, so smart people could easily find everything there, while lazy people just keep asking one by one.

Bernice: Have you tried switching to the "Simple" layout? And to activate the "lightweight" version in your settings?

Bernice: i also have some problems connection to brainking.nl .. sometimes it brings me to google where i can click on the link and the connect without problems (this indicates a DSN problem on my site) ... but today often that doesnt work but brainking.com always seems to work for me
