I only say this because when I signed up for a Tank Battle tournament, I was unrated, but I was at the top of my section, as though I had a high BKR. ( I got lucky, and am actually not that good at Tank Battle !!! :-D ) 16. Plus is also has to do with how many games a person has played also. The more games that have been played, the less the rating will go up and down (since it is more established). 16. Joulukuu 2003, 21:17:12  From the FAQ page...

Players start with BKR = 1300 and the BKR is not shown until he/she finishes at least 4 rated games" So if your rating was a lot higher than that, Steve, a draw would make your rating drop quite a lot. 16. As other people have pointed out in the past, in many cases it is probably such a small change that it doesnt change the # we see. (as it doesn't go out any decimal points.) 16. If the ratings are similar anyway, it will hardly touch them (if at all), which is probably why they appear to change with some draws, and not others. 16. I don't think many usually see it since it affects it less then a win/lose, and if the rating are some-what close to each other, you won't see any change.
But for example you have a player rated 1000, and another player rated 2000 - for the 1000 rated player to not lose and get a draw will get them some points. They planned ahead and put a computer next to the bed, but I guess that computer is not working now - so i'm now watching her games on here (and Dailygammon & Pocket-Monkey). But if I know that she will get more vacation days on January 1st, I'll just stick her on vacation that way I don't have to play any of her games.... (Which I would rather not play unless they are getting ready to time out.) 15.
