Snoopy: I have tried a few new games, but i love Cribbage, so playing lots of that.

The Hangman is very American, us Brits have no hope at it lol

Its so hard to find your way about there.....i am sure i will get used to it in time

Even I am playing more & more at Goldtoken now, they have Cribbage and I love that game ....sadly their site could do with a complete re-design

The only limitation that I can remember is that as a Pawn you can play only 20 games maximum (and you only have 3).

I can not think of another reason, I will see if I can find another Pawn to have a look, or maybe Fencer can work it out

I just thought, maybe the game you are trying to 'Accept' is only for players with a BKR game rating.

You will get a provisional BKR after 4 games & an established BKR after 25 :)

CleverHunk: There are lots of us who love this site & have helped over the years. Many of us are Moderators of Discussion boards, and create tournament BUT it is the programming side of things, Fencer looks after all that.
There are lots of issues that need solving, i.e. brains system (that we were talking about), the tournament creation system need an overhaul, etc.... and of course creating new games, or even variants of ones we have. That is the BIG problem
(It's a shame the site isn't written in Python, I have been learning that the last 6 months of lockdown lol)

I have just been asked by a new member (nice to see I must say) about this:-

20 Brains for free - it can be a good start for everyone. By completing a simple process of easy tasks, you will be awarded with 20 Brains and you can start to explore all other possibilities with no actual investment.

Is this still valid...?, and what do they have to do, I have had a quick look and cannot find any instructions

Carnie: I am on GT now as well (been there a week), but I wouldn't say I have moved there (They have Cribbage, and love that game lol)

By design, Brainking is by far a superior site (in my opinion), all options are on your left or right, and there are many options in your settings for changing things the way you want them to be. Goldtoken is just a mess, that needs a re-design, but it does what its there for, you play games, can have a chat, and it has lots of games brainking does not.

Sadly since Liquid left and Fencer lost interest brainking has lost its appeal. As Marshmud says, some things have got out of control, and only Fencer has the power to sort these things out. So if he is not about or doesn't have time they just go unchecked, people get fed up, and leave.......

There are things that I am sure wouldn't take too much to sort out or put right here, but we have had no new features or games to keep the interest going, BUT these things take time, and I suppose the interest in the first place to do it, and as Fencer said a few years back he has neither of these now......and pursues other interests.

It is his site, and if it falls apart no one but him can do anything about it.....a bit like having your car, if you do not keep it healthy and looked after, it to will fall apart.

It is a shame, and if Fencer was to show an interest again, I, for one, would be the first to get behind him

The moves before seem fine if you scroll back, its when you get to 17. 19-20, 18-off, 18-off .....obviously a bug, i can not even get your dice throw to show properly on screen

Brainking, and its players have been through a lot of ups & downs over 15 years. The site was very new when i found it in 2002,(I can't remember how many games, about 20 then i think) and i had been playing at IYT & Goldtoken. After a while many friends from those sites moved to playing here as well, and the site started to grow.
After a while Fencer revamped the site (I called that Brainking 2.0 lol), and along with harley, BBW (coan.net as he is now) and some other we introduced a sort of customer service, which then turned into Moderators & Globs...(love that word lol). It looked like the site was going to take off.......
Sadly over the last few years, since Liquid cutting back his input, and Fencer not having the time anymore it has been getting buggy and stale
I really hope someone (or a group of people) will step up and save it, it’s part of daily life for me to come and play my games, sort out the Fellowship, and have a chat with whoever is up for one
I have also made a lot of VERY, VERY good friends here over those years, lots of moved on now, but many are still here.
It will be a very sad day for me, when i will click on my brainking.com link and "Page not found" comes up.....

All i can do is hope someone saves the day

I got here 25th November 2002, the site was VERY new then (ony a couple of months & only had a few games). Its sad sometimes to look round or at my friends list and see how many players are no longer with us, ive met some great people here
Still, as long as the sites here, i guess i will be, i just hope someone comes along who either joins Filip or takes it over just so the site will carry on and hopefully fix current bugs or better improve it.

Fencer, has something gone wrong with embeding Videos on BrainKing ??

I notice people are just posting links on the music board. OS i have tried with old & new embed code & neither works for me. I have even tried in my Fellowship, with nothing.

Any ideas ? has their code been changed again, or has BrainKing got a gremlin ?

Really, if you just use your PC for just everyday internet use, Registry cleaners are not needed. If you download and Install (and more to the point UNINSTALL) lots of programs then they are very useful (BUT always remember to make a Back-up)

rabbitoid: your are correct.....I use Bleachbit on any Linux system just to get rid of the rubbish files that builds up in the systems

2 of my systems dual boot with XP Pro, so i still keep up with Windows stuff and CCleaner is a must for any Windows instal

speachless, crosseyed, ellieoop, Old Biddy: I dont know what you have tried, but give this program a go...I instal it on all PC rebuilds i do, it will certainly get rid of any rubbish slowing your computer down.........

Piriform CCleaner

You have to set it up, by ticking what boxes you want it to clean, but it VERY straight forward

(the only ones i don't tick are Passwords & Wipe free space, but each to their own )

Also note, their is also a program included with CCleaner, that will clean your Registry. Cleaning Registries is not always advised, but as long as you back it up first it should be no problem. I always used it and have never had any issues

Is all this will do is make sure you computer is clean, so can run as best it can. It won't help, server issues or connection problems

I suggest game Time-outs are frozen until this problem is sorted.....there obviously is something wrong

crosseyed: This white page thing brings back bad memories of when the site was very young lol (well, i know what i mean ) ......we went through a few months of this white page problem in its first year, but Fencer cured it in the end. Hopefully that will help him search down what is causing it

Bernice: Something happened yesterday evening (GMT time), i had 2 computers logged into BrainKing & on both when i went back to them tabs both had 'Page not found' errors but when i refreshed all was ok

from what you said , i guess something else happened after that
