To find out what stairs you can currently challenge someone in, first go to the Main Stairs Page, then click on "Show your stairs only" link. The ones in BOLD are ones you can make a challenge in. .

tenuki:Some people are sick as we'll as others have to look after sick people,so give them a break, maybe one Day you'll be to busy or sick to play.
Your a Rook go to the waiting room or post you own there, that's what that implement is for correct.
tenuki: You're welcome. If you'd like to tell me more about that timeout-and-nothing-happens in a PM I'll be glad to explain as much as I can work out.
playBunny: Thanks! Now I understand! :-)
And why it is that some player (I will only give the nickname privately) times out constantly and nothings happens...the game just disappears?
tenuki: Abigail got to Step 2 by beating someone who has since left the Stairs. You can only challenge players at your own level and the three below so she has the option to challenge you but you must wait for a third player to join the Stairs.
Why there are ladders (for example as in http://brainking.com/en/Stairs?trg=3&tri=223, and there are others) where there are two players, no games playing, no games recently played against each other and yet you have no player to challenge?
Fencer: ohhhhhh: after i click "Stairs" i have to click "Show your stairs only" before i see which ones are bold (like rod said). i forgot about that - i thought i should see my stairs in bold when i just clicked "Stairs" in the main menu. it would be nice if i did, hint-hint...but this'll work for now. ;) thanks, Filip.
rod03801: you can find a server at the mall if your mall has an Apple Store. a low-end Power Mac G5 plus the server OS will run you about $2500.00 US before tax.
Your list under the Stairs link on the main menu is where you see the names that turn bold when you can challenge someone. (After clicking "show my stairs only")
I would like to see a little red number beside that "Stairs" link in the menu, that tells you how many of your stairs you currently can challenge someone in. And when you click the red number it takes you directly to that list of your own stairs.
That's my fantasy... Yes, I live a sad life.. LOL
plaintiger: You have right. If you click and go to Stairs from main menu it is okey (bold), but you choose to go to the Stairs from 'Profile' it does not show bold in it! This is a bug
are the names of stairs in which it's my turn to challenge somebody supposed to still be turning bold to let me know it's my turn to challenge somebody? because mine haven't been. i have to look through all my stairs every so often to see if i need to challenge anyone. it's really tedious...
i thought that turning-bold feature was brilliant, but it seems to be gone now.
To speed up the games in fisher, how about Auto Resignation, that has recently been introduced to Daily Gammon,
I never know when to resign and it could be an option
Fencer: That wasnt the point.... its more like they (fischers games) should be the faster games, but because of the extra time added after a move, they tend to get longer limits than most of my other games.
Fencer: I find that the fischers stair games I play, where the time goes up 3 hours every move, I actually can play those games slower than normal games I play!
J5o: Because many players complained that 1-game matches are too slow. Fischer Stairs are for very fast players who want to see the results as soon as possible.
You'll see that the Fischer's Stairs have risen more quickly. That's an indication of the turnover rate and that is partly the result of having only one game. And that helps the Stairs live up to its name of "Very fast".
At least that's what I assumed when Fencer first created these Very Fast Fischer Stairs. It's nice to see it working out, at least in Backgammon.
6) You cannot play the same person if you are already playing a game with him/her in the same Stairs or if you finished a game with him/her in the same Stairs within recent 14 days.
Fencer: Lol. I haven't come across the opportunity yet but I'll give it a go. I noticed Alanback and Pedro were sole occupants on a Step but they've only got one game going which led me to the question. I'll see what Pedro says.
wellywales: you can play 1 game in which you challenged your opponent, and you can play a second game in which your opponent has to challenge you .. this makes a maximum of 2 games at the same time in the same stairs
Czuch Chuckers: Lol. This is rather the wrong place to be asking that. But as it's here, my vote is to keep it. I love that splash of colour, it's great!
