Carl: Thanks Carl. I couldn't find a proper translation on line. It is from a band that I listen to that is from Finland. They don't sing in English but their song '<span>tapporauta' Is awesome. The band is Korpiklanni. very awesome band
Pedro Martínez: Thanks Pedro. I didn't bother with a google transltor as they are never correct.. This was why, allium, I had asked for someone who is Czech to reply.
King Reza: I'm quite sure it is proper as well. Pedro, the way you would have said it doesn't sound quite right. BUT it is how I talk, unfortunately, my English has gotten quite laxidazical. (Love that word!)
To me 'custom' is a very obsurb word. It has a few different meanings in the English language
1. practice followed by people of a particular group or region. 2. Duties or taxes imposed on imported and, less commonly, exported goods. 3.Made to order.
Then if you make the word 'customer' a person or business that purchases a commodity or service
English is a very difficult language to master I would think.
Czuch Chuckers: All globals do keep an eye on the busy boards. When a problem arises and a mod or co-mod isn't on a global does or should step in. Good thing is the boards are very quiet right now. OK, OFF topic a tad. Back to languages.
Hrqls: It made it a little difficult for me when I was learning basic html. I would make a page with the colour tag and it never worked. Once I realized it was all 'set' in American English then I had no problem
With congratulations... I saw a banner at a wedding one time that read "congradulations on your wedding". I was floored. I couldn't believe that mistake got by the printers. Does it mean that maybe folks are so lax in their English that many, many don't know the proper words/spelling etc?
رضا: Yes, I realize that part. I think a lot of it is lack of written use in every day life. Most folks don't normally write or type very much except at sites like this. Maybe showing them the difference will help them to learn the difference. Just a thought.
I am by no means a scholar or the best at grammar in the English language but I can't get over how many people make these common mistakes!
It is You're welcome, not your welcome!
It is congrats or congratulations, not congrads!
I can hear you, not here you!
It is their car, not there car!
