Bullets9mm: The thing is, if you join a tournament with 5 days per move, you have to assume at least a few people are going to frequently take all of that time for each move. 5 days per move really isn't "short". In fact many with that time control will be some of the longest!

If you move that much each day, 1 day per move tournies would probably be great for you.

Sometimes, it can't hurt to send a nice personal message to someone who is taking a long time, and they may actually speed up for you. I know lots of people who have hundreds of games going at once will move on their games in order of time out. They probably aren't INTENTIONALLY trying to hold things up. If they know someone is wishing they would speed up, they may start specifically looking for games of that tourney.

Also, one thing to remember is that if as a Pawn, if you are in a tourney where your own games are completed, and there is no way for you to move on to the next round, you can send a message to Fencer, and he will probably "release" you from that tourney so that you can join another. (and not wait until every player in that round is done playing)

srnity: Thanx. I just thought--why join a tournament if you really do not want to make moves. I guess I will just have to wait. :) Thx again for the reply!

coan.net: The time control was 5 days, standard vacation. I picked it becayse it was short, as I am on every day at least 3-4 different imes.

Bullets9mm: It's that "standard vacation" thing, it'll get you every time If I'm able (not yet a pawn myself, that is), when you get thru that one, give me a PM and I'll gladly set up a tournie for you, in your honor, and how you'd like it to be

Bullets9mm: People play at different rates. Some only make a move every few days, some are on many times a day.

Best thing to do is to try to join games with short time limits. There are many on this site who like to play shorter time limits - while many like longer time limits. Best to try to find games with time limits which best suit your needs.

 Frog Finder! Thanksgiving Bash Rook Prize Tourney

71 players so far.  May start when we hit 100.  ;)

rod03801:  I just figured it out:  It's not working.    Actually I tried a couple of idea but each time - nothing.  

rod03801:  I didn't think I was right on that.  It's very odd.  I just checked another running invite only tourney that I'm not in and I can see the charts on that one.  Very strange.

And as far as I know, the "private" part of it is only meaning that no one else can enter except those invited. As far as I know, even "invite only" tournies are still visible.

rod03801:  It's a private "invite only" tourney so maybe that's why.  Unless your in the tourney.  Then I'm guessing you should be able to read it.  But I'm just guessing  :)

Does anyone know why the bottom half of this tournament would be gone?

I noticed it a while ago when we were having all the image problems, etc., so didn't think much of it at the time.

None of the "charts" are there. This tourney is still running.

coan.net: Sounds cool. Think about a name (...-Battleboats) and suggest that to Fencer. (I think he'll listen to you). Multiple shote of course, say 3. Also suggest the Dark version (muliple shots, say 3) (Chaos!) to him.

joshi tm: I will have to find the game suggestion - think I posted it on the battleboat board before, but would love to see a variant where the player gets to choose their game set before the start. That is instead of each player getting (1) 5 boat, (1) 4 boat, (2) 3 boats, and (1) 2 boat - they can choose different things, like a 4 square platform piece, and other possible odd-shaped pieces. Each player will have the same total amount of spaces being used, but each player does not know what type of pieces they are looking for.
