Actually, the game would be over in 6 hours. (Each person has 3 hours for their moves) Though, it doesn't check for time outs constantly, so there are actually a few more minutes allowed at the end...

A question on this type of setting (Time: 3 hours, Bonus: none, Limit: 3 hours, no days off)
I presume the game has to be completed in 3 hours , if say we had moved in the game but the game wasnt finished would the loser be the one that still has the turn on thier main page ? or is there more to it .

BIG BAD WOLF: Sure, it doesn't apply to matches. Someone could resign the last match game with no moves performed (just in this last game) and avoid a BKR loss.

BIG BAD WOLF: It doesn't apply in the finals. I don't know if it's a bug or not but that's the way it is. Try resigning some tournament game that is in the first-section stage.

Otsikko: Re:
Fencer: Um..... I think I will have to disagree with Fencer on this one!

I just resigned 3 games with no moves made (3 win match), and I lost BKR points and the other person gained BKR points!

= = = = = = =

Londo is the winner.

Londo: old BKR = 2487, new BKR = 2488 (+1)
BIG BAD WOLF: old BKR = 2061, new BKR = 2059 (-2)

Game type: Froglet
Tournament: Frogazons Plus Fellowship - Froglet II

= = = = = = = = =

.... not that I'm worried about 2 BKR points, but you do still lose BKR points if it's a tournament game! (no matter what Fencer says!)

Pawns cannot delete their games. Tournament games cannot be deleted by anyone. If you resign a game where under 2 moves by each of the sides have been made, it still counts as a loss but you don't lose any BKR points.

Otsikko: Re: resigning a game
Binabik: I believe that if you resign a game, it counts as a loss. You can delete a regular game before a certain number of moves are made, but I don't know if that applies in a tournament. I'll see if I can find out

Otsikko: resigning a game
What happens if you resign a tournament game when one or no moves have been made? Does that count as a loss for you in that tourney?

fungame: I still don't think I understand what you are trying to say.

So for example, a game where each player will have a total of 2 days to make his moves (weather he makes them in 1 hour, or starts to make them after a day. = = = Fisher's Clock: 2/0/2

So for example, a game where each player should never take more then 5 hours after the last player played to make a move = = = Fisher's Clock: .5/.5/.5 (or course this could end up taking longer then 2 days)

BIG BAD WOLF: yes, that's true but what if I want to limit time for one move, then my new option would fulfill this, you cannot do it with what you wrote, that way the opponent has for example 2 days for whole game, but what I wrote can result in 2 days for whole game but 5 hours for each move max. How can you achieve this now?
edit: perhaps not really 5 hours per move, but at least 5 hours added per move

Otsikko: Re: Can any1 tell me how
fungame: Just set the bonus in a fischer's clock game to 0 - then the time will be for the complete game for one party (since no bonus time will be added for each move.)

Otsikko: Re: Can any1 tell me how
BTW, for some time I was not sure about Fischer clock implementation, which of 2 possibilities it covers. Now I know, but anyway I think the other option I had in mind would have some sense too, may be it can be added. It differs by this: Limit doesnt mean the maximum time left in a game, but maximum time total in the game (the length of the game for one party)

mrloupcity: Looking at your games, I'm guessing you are talking about the "1.st Liberals & Talent Tournament - Crowded Backgammon" - http://brainking.com/en/Tournaments?tri=49714#1

If that is the case, then the time is using the new Fischer's clock time control, which in all Fischer clock games - holidays/weekends/vacations are not used. (That has been listed in the Time Help Section since the Fischer's clock was introduced.)

But because all of those games did not have days off, Fencer at first did not have the red dot next to those tournaments - since all would have no time off it did not make a difference. But I believe he added them recently so it would be easier to see by everyone since not everyone will go read the help about the new time control.

So you are right that it probable did not say "no time off" when you signed up - but all games using Fisher's clock has not vacation or weekend days.

Otsikko: Re: red dots
mrloupcity: games with no days off have been implemented here some weeks ago, but the red dots only showed in the game invitation and in the tournament list, where you probably overlooked it.

It's new that the red dot is also shown in your game list, to make it easier for you to find these games, but the games themselves were no-days-off games from the start.

BIG BAD WOLF: I did not join any tournies that I could not take days off. So then I guess it has to be a bug. With the things going here at the house I have to be able to take days off. Well guess when I run out of vac days I'll be SOL and poele will get free wins. BBW thxs for repling.

Thanks, Fencer! That's awesome...
But shouldn't someone only be able to create tournaments only as far ahead as their current membership?

Otsikko: Re: Can any1 tell me how
mrloupcity: Tournament creators have no way to change the type of days off a tournament has - so all tournament should have the same "days off" rules that where there when they started.

If you see something you think has been changed - it may be a bug, but nothing should be changing after it is created.

Otsikko: Can any1 tell me how
tournies that had aready started now have (no days off). At least to me this is not right. If I wanted to play in tournies that had no days off I would have signed up for them. So now what is going on here changing rule after something has started. I see on the BK board that they say lots of people are leaving this site or just not renewing. This may have something to do with it. It like changing horses in the middle of the stream u can get wet most of the time. So now guess if I don't want to play in tournies that have changed. Guess some people playing me may get lots of win over the rules changing.
