Do anyone know how to mend sour souls ?
I have lost two backgammon games just because the
d--- dices was to low !
What do you do when things arn`t going your way ?
Please help me !
i think the universe would implode, just as my brain is from contemplating that. It's the same feeling I got as at work today when I asked someone, in English (a big mistake in Korea), what the date was today. The reply: yesterday. *poof*
Walter Montego:
I don`t quite get it,,,
Why should the tird dice be in the game in the first place?
It could be fun never the less to move backwards,,,
The only time I do this is when someone sends me back to the bar,,,,
rod03801: Instead of it being negative, as in moving backwards to normal Backgammon flow, why not have the third die as one that the player can use in either direction at his option?
As for rolling triplets, I'd just count it as double instead of triple, so it'd give you six of the number rolled. That'd still be a good roll. I'd also not count doubles using the third die, just count them when the doubles use only the original two dice or there'll be way too many doubles in the game.
I was thinking once about a variation with a 3rd die that was maybe a different color, that would be a negative number you must move one of your pieces..
because the socalled international rules are nothing to advance
real backgammon whatsoever, still I wait for the (optional) rule that
you must take from highest triangle first as soon as you started moving out. ~*~
SueQ: That's the glitch I mean. Based on my experience on other sites, it seems to require more than 1 software fix to get it working right, as it comes up in different contexts.
I would like to see the normal backgammon rule of 'using both dice is possible' implemented. As it stands now the opponent can use only one dice and pass if he becomes blocked from using the second dice. This can really change a game! I have noticed though, the players that seem to know backgammon use both dice even if it puts them in a rough spot.
I wonder whether user input is solicited on what priority should be given to various improvements. There are one or two glitches in the backgammon engine that should be fixed first, but introduction of the doubling cube and matches of greater length than 1 would be right after that on my list.
Hrqls: I've already written the first three chapters, available at $4.99 per page (each chapter is 500 pages) If I thought I could get away with it I'd ask you all to leave your credit card details here for me, but I'll just ask the gullible this time.
i sometimes think they are changing before my eyes on here as well ... but i never found proof of it .. i still think it was my eyes playing tricks on me .. or me focussing on the opponents dice of his last move at first ... i will find proof!!! its a conspiracy! ;)
Oh, I thought the "other site" was a different site. I've never heard of dice problems at IYT.. I know at Goldtoken they seem to change before your eyes.. I assumed that was the "other site" everyone was talking about..
Backgammonfan28: That site has problems with its random generator - but it doesn't show in die rolls. It pregenerates the die rolls for an entire day - a roll for every millisecond. And it's the millisecond in which your HTTP request arrives that determines your roll. Not a problem for backgammon like games - but it's a serious problem for Jamble tournaments. Which they still haven't fixed, and is one of the reasons I let my membership there expire, and got a membership here.
