I initiated 2 tournies at my Fellowship: Glibby Glub Glooby etc..
When people try to sign up for the backgammon tourney, it takes them to a chess tourney where they cant sign up :o(
I don't know what is happening here, because I see no problem. Thanks for your help!
Haven't been online much today here in New Jersey.. but no probs, Fencer :-) In addition to that info: I am using the new.brainking.com site.. YOu go mAn! ;o)
How do you mean "still".. I made a favourite page for the new.brainking.com link.. when it gets slower in here I turn to that page ;o) I assume when you turned on that new link you will stay tuned on there until you log off..
I agree.. those I remember I lost I resign, those I don't know, I aks my opponent, if we both can't remember I ask for a draw and start up new games..
the only thing I haven't thought about is what to do with the to be started tourny's in my fellowhsip; but they were running before the crash.. should i start them up again? Or create new ones or delete them? any suggestions? What are others doing in their fellowships??
Its weird to play games we played in september and early october and it brings back emotions as well, like having a game in my gamelist from GrannyOne, aka emattie1943.. and reading that last message from her, so wonderful and so sweet.. brings me to tears..
Unfortunately my opponent ran out of time in Game ID: 123222.. so I won the game.. but my rating stayed the same, as it was before.. Is this normal when your opponent run out of time? Did I miss some change in the rules? I must admit that i don´t have much time left to read the boards thoroughly ;o)
but in case my rating should increase, could you please upgrade my rating; before I won my rating was 1887 - as you can see, its still the same....
Sujet: Re: Thanks Kevin for your help :-) & Game ID 93890 again....
lol peacepickle, I wish I had such high rating there..
but, Fencer/Kevin, sorry to bother you again with this.. I am glad my rating got restored, but:
BefOre I won this game I had the rating 1333 - once you win a game, your rating get higher, right? Could you please then upgrade my rating, as it should be? Or do you need to know my opponents rating as well at that time? - that would be 1666..
can you please check out the above Game ID? I won a tourny game against panda and finished it last night. Then today I received a message, that panda won. Could you please reset that game into my advantage? Sorry, panda :-) I know i didn´t win the tourny, but I can use the BKR ratings ;o)
You mean, the server-issue will be solved and taken care of by a fellow Dutch man! I really need to consider to change my flag into that one of my Home-Country!!
Hartstikke goed, joh!! :-)
(btw: normally I am not thAt nationalistic; only when our Dutch National Skate team wins another WorldChampionShip on their high-speed skates.. lol)
Perhaps Fencer can create page with a graphic design: f.e. a big thermometer, which will get higher with every donation given and next to that a thermometer with the necessary ammount..
Make it visible to the users.. and like Rod said: when they see people ARE donating, they probably will give more, to reach the top.
Thanks Rose and yes, I support the idea of adding something to the names of the users who has donated; but without the ammount. I agree with Bernice. It should be enough, to know who donates :o) That IS a wonderful thing on its self, I think!
A link on the mainpage to the ammount of collected money would be neat! :o)
I have to apologise!!! I am very sorry, Fencer.. I see the game now.. thought it would appear on top of my list... but you have been so generous of providing all of us many many days, so I just saw the game somewhere in the middle of my list!
Again, I apologise for being such a nuisance today.. I know you do excellent work.. and I appreciate it! And as I said earlier: I very much enjoy playing on this site and I knOw the work will be lighter when we all send you encouragements!
Stay cool, màn and yes, keep up the good work!!!! TGIF: Happy weekend!
I was just trying to avoid complaining so much, but since a tourny game timed out, I couldn´t just stay silent anymore..
You say: "Fencer restores games that time out.."
then I repeat my question: Fencer, could you please reset/restore this game for me - Game ID: 79002 - its a tourny game.. which i would realy like continue playing. :-)
Many thanks again for your updates, your efforts and your hard work on this site.
I cannot believe my previous message got through... because my system showed me a hanging site.
Anyway, i sent Fencer and email about this as well.
Fencer, could you please reset Game ID: 79002 I just ran out of time.. :-((( I especcially woke up, to check in and see about the game.. but i was just too late and its in the middle of the night for me!
Could you please give us some additional time, so we indeed can play our games on regular hours?
This week its terrible! Everytime I try to logon, I have to keep trying and trying to get access the site and once I am on it takes me 30 minutes to play 1 game.. :-( After every move, I most of the time I get the "BrainKing.com - Please wait" site... And this also count for sending/reading messages... *big sigh - It looks like it only gets worse...
I thought the paying members got priority in access?
Anyway.. would it be an idea to get time added, everytime you cannot access the site?? Games are running out of time, because I cannot access and/or play them..
Its not our fault that we cannot sign in, so could you please consider to give us back any extra time, Fencer?? :-)

Okay gentlemen :-) it was just a thought; while reading the previous messages, this boggled up.. But, thanks for explaining the obvious more technical part concerning the site performance.. :-) Hopefully the bug will be recognised soon and this site will be smooth again.
I have yet read some of the postings here concerning the slow responce time of the servers BK is running on. It´s good to see, that people in here are positive to find solutions together, but I have too little time to read all of the postings, sorry :-)
So, what i want to add here, perhaps someone already mentioned it before - then sorry again.. :-)
This counts for ALL boards: the fellowship boards as well!
Remarks: *Why do we still have the opportunity to read posts from the date this site started?
*Does anyone in here really looks up threads posted in December f.e.?
*Does any thread goes really back 3 months ago?
I mean to say here, that we possibly don´t need all those extra pages. Why not delete every 2 monts the past posts? I can imagine, for boards as BK.com and Features.. boards directly pointing to the core of this site; you want to keep all of the idea´s players have posted. But those perhaps you might be able to store those at a backup server. Keep them off from the mainserver.
It´s just a thought..
And perhaps concerning the Messagebox: add the feature to save messages and align that DB also on a backupserver..
At times and currently more often the resolving of the pages takes time; but its not ONLY on this site. Don´t know if you play at IYT, but there it used to be TERRIBLE, for days!!! You just have to be persistent in getting on here; when its touch to get on, I wait awhile until trying it again. When you have friends in here and games and issues you started off discussing, then you DO want to come back in and most of the time, I do succeed again within 30 minutes.
Good job, Fencer and goodluck in bugging all the bugs you can find! ;o))
I indeed have seen several questions about this asked by Mad Monkey the past couple of weeks. It´s sad, when someone suddenly disappears and doesn´t reply on any mail nor message. I have the same with a user which ID is PRAYER ~ he used to call himself 5655 and had loads and loads of games going, which almost ALL of them timed out.. For a while I pretty worried about him and send him messages; today I have seen him logging on, but never answered any message.. Sometimes people just want to get out; needs their rest or leave a place because of other personal situations. My thoughts are going out to all friends of these missing users AND to the users themselves. Hope all is well with them. I am glad this is a site, which observes these issues; so we are able to be there for eachother and act towards eachother in good fellowship!
Hi, I also sent Fencer an email, but he is obviously too busy to reply. Perhaps somebody can help me?
I have a Knight Membership and want to upgrade to Rook Membership. How does it goes with the costs? I already paid an ammount a few months back.. do I have to pay the whole ammount again?? Will I get a refund on the ammount I already paid??
Please help.. I wanna upgrade asap, so I can attend in more games for Patty!!!
Yep, I tried the site all day long... no responce.. only the upgrade page.. so when I tried to login a few minutes ago, I sat rejoicing in my chair: it's working again!! Yippieee.. but any reason for the outage, Fencer?
