Sujet: Re: Random colors?
pedestrian: 10% is still a relatively high probability. It means that one out of every 10 Brainking users will get such an unequal distribution or worse. You were just unlucky. As for the other question, yes, you can delete any game (non-tournament) within the first 2 moves, and it won't count for rating or statistics.

lukulus: Actually, white does have an advantage in Knight Fight due to starting the game. If black ends up unable to move, white will benefit from an extra move, which can mean up to an extra 99 points. Also because of starting, white always has first choice over which squares to delete. After several games that starts biasing the results a little in white's favor.

Carl: Or maybe he's doing it so that players will get fed up and resign - that way he actually manages to win a couple of games

Artful Dodger: For white knights/rooks, buying a year membership resets your vacation days.

For black rooks, buying a year membership for someone else will do it.

AbigailII: I agree, BKR changes should be based on GAMES, not MATCHES. Ratings should update every time a game is finished, even if the match still goes on.

Summertop: you played a 2 game match: you lost one game and drew another, so overall you lost the match

BKR changes are calculated for the match as a whole and not for every individual game

Sujet: Re: pawns able to play in ponds?
LionsLair: if they are a knight or a rook the moment they submit their move, it will still count, even if they become a pawn before that round is over and the moves are calculated

Jason: Well that settles it then. If it works fine for one person, then it's definitely not Brainking's fault...

Sujet: Re: "unrated" playes in single-elimination
chenshap: Unrated players start with a BKR of 1300 and it is adjusted every time you finish a rated game, even if that isn t' shown until after you finish 4 games.

Ceiter: But the same user could visit BK with IE on one day and Firefox on another. How would that compute?

Sujet: Re:
MadMonkey: I think your idea would be unfair because some players would have to win more matches to qualify for the Final Elimination while others would qualify by winning shorter tournaments.

I like rabbitoid's idea though.

It seems fun - ponds are getting somewhat repetitive now

Sujet: Re: 108 BK games? Where's that number 108?
MadMonkey: well there is no BKR for random games, so the stats only include 108

Sujet: Re: Teams BKR
MadMonkey: How many matches did the team play in that tournament?

The way I understand it, as long as you played at least 4 matches (not individual players, but team vs. team matches) you would have a BKR.
