STOP YOUR FIGHTING. Both of you are just fighting for stupid reasons. Andersp, you are not suspected in cheating. Anyone who has played you or Antje knows better than that. AD, you through your comical methods can antagonize. Leave Andersp alone.
For you to get brains you need to be a paid member. When you become a member and you get others to sign up as paid members and use you as a referral, you get brains. With the brains you can collect them and when you get enough you can cash them in for additional paid membership later. See the Brains link at the top of the page for details.
Derek, when someone buys a membership, they can have 'brains' given to you. Theres an explanation of it on the - erm - either brains or FAQ page!
Different amounts of brains can be given depending on which membership level is purchased.
I by NO WAY hinted that all people who use the same computer is cheating - I'm not sure why you are taking things so personal - I was trying to "stick up" for the people who use the same computer, and even gave tips on how those people who do use the same computer could help them not be a target for suspicious.
Andersp - you and your games look fine to me, nothing out of the ordenary. Same with MASTERMINDS games - all look normal.
Please don't "hint" that I was hinting that you were cheating please. :-)
LOL Andersp, that wasn't what I meant. I mean its suspicious when people play loads of rated games with one person, and resign after a few moves in each game. Or just lose badly loads of times. Thats whether its the same computer or not. Personally, I'm not suspicious of anyone. If they want to cheat, go ahead! Its not hurting me, if they have a high rating through cheating then I'd like to play them and take some of that rating! Ha ha!
Gooner..we all know that a lot of people are cheating here in more than one way.
What pisses me off is that its so much noice if we are using the same computer. If i play a friend in Sweden will we be as "monitored" as if i play my wife in the same house?
I agree Andersp. It shows however how a few bad apples past and present put all people like you and Antje under the microscope. It is not fair to you and I know neither you are cheaters. I used to have a roommate and we had 2 different internet hookups in the house. However when her computer crashed she used mine. IYT did not like it so they forced one account to be closed down. There was no cheating going on. That is one of the reasons IYT never got a paid membership from me. However I paid for one here and one for my friend, and part of another one for someone else here. This site is the best on the site. A couple bad instances should not take away from that.
Antje and i play each other in many games, usually we invite to 3 x 9 RATED games and believe me, none of us feel as a "ratingcheater"
If anyone wants to cheat he can as well play someone across the Ocean as easily, i dont understand why it must be so big noise if we sit in the same house?
My rating went down to 1550 something the other night and it was NOT because i helped Antje to a higher rating it was as simple as she had more luck than i had.
We have paid our membership (well Antje donated my membership from Linda's prize tourney to me) so i think we deserve to be treated as "no cheaters".
Why must we on and on have to read this BS about "suspicious cheating" because we sit in the same house?
My stand is if you have more than one person using the same computer to play games here, one should have a membership. In the before mentioned case, both Mastermind and Smart Alx are paid members so I dont see any real problems with them playing each other even if it is a rated game. One can tell if the game was rigged or legitimate based on reviewing a game's moves. I know there are exceptions to that statement. For the most though it is verily easy to determine.
Smart Alx is Masterminds son.
My son and daughter have been playing here recenty, and we play each other - although we do make sure its unrated games! I think its as BBW says, its ok in most circumstances, but you can help yourself by playing unrated games and playing 'normally', for example, not winning 15 games against your relative in one day so your rating goes very high! Thats just suspicious behaviour!
(IN MY OPINION) - it is some-what OK - but here are the "rules" I would follow if I were to lets say play my wife in games.
1) Try to play unrated - then you won't get accused of trying to "cheat" the ratings
2) Try not to play too many rated games too fast (if 2 players on the same computer finish games many times a day, it might look suspicious - ESPECIALLY if 1 player wins almost all the games)
Long long ago... in a galaxy far far away, there were beings who were very unhappy with ways boards were moderated before. Fellowship boards were created to resolve that conflict until things became better. Maybe that is a solution for now????? hmmmmm?
Another bug I have been living with for awhile, but I'm not sure if you know about it - so I'll mention it again.
In the Battleboat games, after you place your pieces, if you click on a piece to remove it from the board, almost always (about 85% of the time) it will also take off the 5 ship - so you are again placing the one you took off, and the 5 ship.
I noticed this a long time ago, but it's more of a pain now that we have the "random" board placement - because there is usually 1 peice I like to move - and it always takes off the 2 pieces.
Again, not a big bug - but thought I would mention it so it makes it on the list. :-)
