I like the on-line -opponents just to see if it is worth hanging around after I've made my moves and read boards

I look forward to the BKR's being back on the main page..
And I want to place my vote for KEEPING on-line opponents. I use it CONSTANTLY.. Most of the time, those are the games I play first. (the ones against opponents that are online at the same time as me.) It helps me to always have games to play.
And I too like being nosey and seeing what others are doing. :-)

not show that you're here. i don't like the feature that we know what everyone is doing on the site, i would think of it as a privacy feature.

are there any plans for an optional hide button feature? there's something like that at iyt. i think that would offer the privacy that some players want.

Lyth and Pedro...why don't you check out the uncensored debates.... you could give us some solid arguements for why you want to ge rid of Bush instead of just the general comment "get rid of Bush, yeah, me too..."

There are no BK averages anywhere at BK...I like the "On-line opponents" and I also use it very often...get rid of Bush

I like the BK averages...Get rid of the 'Whose on line' or 'On-line Opponets'...rather nosey areas to begin with.

At any time, you could have went into your setting and turned them off. I personally like having them on so I can look at how I'm doing in certain games - but also agree to leave them off until the server is doing beter.

Fencer's post orangengreen

Btw, I've temporarily disabled the Top BKR table on Main Page. It was one of the sources of the database overload.

what happen to my bkr`s listed on the main page there not there anymore?

Strange. It works for me if i open a new explorer window and paste URL of that page. Otherwise it just refreshes tournaments page. Must be something with my computer.

I like friends-on-line. I put opponents on the list and see at a glance when they are there. After game, I remove them. (doesn't mean I don't like them anymore!)

Also i would rather play games that are running short of time OR others against people that are online(pawns mainly), without having to keep going to check at the Who is on-line page.

Because I can see, if they play now the game with me or with other people. This feature lets develope a special face-to-face feeling.I am sure the most players like it.

I am not saying i need to know at all, but i do agree with Caissus it is a nice feature special to BK.
On GT you can have all your friends on line, but no moves to makes for ages, they could just be sat there.

Sujet: Re:
why do you need to know what they are doing, if they aren't playing your games what concern is it to you, I just think that it is a big drain on the server, friends on line shows you if they are on the site if you want to chat with them send them a message

28. Janvier 2004, 21:28:38
MadMonkey
Well what would be the point of a Friends list, apart from to tell us who we have added, we would not know if they were playing games or just have there screen on refresh every minute.
It would basically be the same as the Who is on-line feature & on-line opponents. They would all become pointless as such.
(edited)
Optional would be good ellie.
I wonder if anything can be done about messaging as well, as there are people that just use BK as a way to keep in touch with others, yet are not worried about there games.

it takes very long to get into my own profile, and i also agree about disabling the feature of telling us what everyone is doing, i never liked that, is there a way to disable that?

28. Janvier 2004, 21:05:54
Rose
Profiles must take up wayyy tooo much cuz when ever I try to access any one who plays alot it takes ages an ages for em to open up. Some ppl say they cant even get some ppls profiles to open. The multitude of tourney listings, fellowships and games seems a lot of info

I agree harley, just thinking out loud for a change lol.
Who is on-line or on-line opponents surely are not needed either if it will speed things up or take pressure off the database as most have others on there friends list.

coan.net
I would be for disabling where you see what the other person is doing (while playing a game with them). I know it is handy for some, but for me I could care less that the other person I'm playing is currently looking at XXXX

The only thing with the profile pages is that alot of the Big Boses include links within them and of course the Customer Service Links as well.
Unless they can be set to disable when the site gets busy.
