I am regularly the top or second active brain knight. However outside of working, doing laundry, and grocery shopping, I have no life. I am so sad. =o(

I notice Steve R is there a lot lately as the top player. I was once. Those who are there consistantly, go outside and do some shopping, go to work, etc. The internet will be there when you get back home. ;o). LOL

There's nothing about active players at the top of my main page(?)

Jason: I am sorry but it would be extremely hard to do. The current database [designed two years ago] is not prepared for such queries.

fencer i know that your busy but could you do a list of the top ten (most moves made in total , not a day) like you did for whispers but the top ten out of all the people here ?

20. Janvier 2004, 12:44:20
Fencer
Jason: It means that at the moment it was 18,278 but while I was typing, Whisperz could make more moves :-)

20. Janvier 2004, 12:40:09
Jason
Whisperz: 18278 ... 9 ... 80 ... 81 ok maybe im thick but how many moves is that ?
edit maybe its 18,281 . that sounds alot of moves

wonder how many i have done ??

20. Janvier 2004, 12:14:39

I should stop talking about it ;-)

Caissus: It requires new database structure on BK 2.0 where such statistics can be done in milliseconds. The current one is too complicated.

Sorry Whisperz, i thought that is what you meant. It would be interesting to know how many moves we have made since we joined though.

MM, I had noticed that number and I am aware of where the (more ...) leads, but what I meant was my TOTAL moves ... this is, from when I first logged on :)

MadMonkey
You can find you total for the day Whisperz at the top of the main page, where it says:
Yesterday's most active player: Steve R (779 moves) (more ...)
If you click on the more link is will show you where you are in the list & how many you have made.

I'd be interedsted to know the total number of moves I had made ... not all the time, just out of interest :)

Sujet: Re: How Many Moves in a Day
I thought along the same line as LongJohn a while ago, i think i mentioned it on the Feature Request board. If your number of moves is a running total stored in the database (or even one subtracted from the other), that it could be displayed somwhere, maybe beside your number of moves from the previous day. That way you could see how many moves everyone way making during the day, and you know the sort of competitions people have round here LOL
Who can make the most LOL ? :o)

BBW: I don't want to make wrong predictions. Several weeks.
LongJohn: Yes, you must wait for the next day. Or ask me to find it in the database ;-)

Hi Bernice :o)

I had a look at the tourney games and they've all made a move today. It seems they are just moving more slowly than the other players. It happens :o) As long as they move in the time allowed they won't time out, and the tournament will stay as 'running'. It shouldn't be long before they're done, but there doesn't seem to be any problem with the tourney that I can see.

I have checked the 2 tournaments and this is the result......

in the 5 in Line Zetes and Antje have an outstanding game....if they could finish that the 5 in line would be over.

as for the battleboats....Molly v Whikki, and Whikki v goodfoods is still outstanding...again if those could be finished ....I play with Molly every day so I cannot understand it being outstanding...all these games hould have well and truly timed out by now....perhaps Fencer could look into it.

The tourneys are called...Five up, five down, five across.......and Bernice's best battleboats bruhaha.....
thanks so much :)

Fencer - Don't mean to "bug" you about it, but about how close is the new version of BrainKing?

The only thing I worry about not letting pawn post is if they do have a problem, they will have no place to go and ask (other then private message - which they may not know to use).

When the new version of BrainKing is done and released.

A few of the pawns have have games with have been asking about when they can post again. Any time frame on that?

Are there still ongoing games in these tournaments, Bernice? If there are than it will show as being a running tournament until a winner is declared.

19. Janvier 2004, 07:03:44

according to my ":tournaments running" list i have a five in line and a battleboats STILL running.....these were pre crash tournaments how do i close them down...it has been so long....or what do i have to do to get rid of them :) thanks

Yes, that happened to me as well for a while - a page would partly load, it would show me the beginning of the html tag and fail to load the rest of the page. Eventually i started getting "The page cannot be displayed" messages, at which point i gave up. It seems to be doing better now, however!

When Fencer bumps a defeated pawn from one tourney so they can join another, it doesn't affect their performance record in the one in which they were bumped, does it?

yes its number 3 bbw its on the agenda to be fixed

I could think of a couple of examples of how pawns can get into multiply tournaments.

1) They were a knight/rook whos membership has expired, but are still playing in other games.

2) During the "new year bug" when games were timed out, a pawn may have had their games gone, signed up for another tournament, and then got their old games back.

3) A known game bug which I have reported to Fencer at one time of how a pawn could enter multiply tournaments, which when I last checked was not "fixed" yet.

So is what you mean is that the same pawn is through to the next round in tourny 'A' for example, and has been allowed to sign new tourny 'B' ?
It never used to be possible, as you say it may be a new bug (unless Fencer has changed pawn tourny rules).

17. Janvier 2004, 13:35:44
Fencer
Which tournament is it?

17. Janvier 2004, 12:48:50
Jason
no madmokey , i have seen differnt , one player is still waiting for another round to start and have just started another tourney . , im mainly letting fencer know that his programme might have a bug (ie)letting pwns sign up for more than one tournament

17. Janvier 2004, 12:31:33
MadMonkey
It can only be done Jason if they ask Fencer to remove them from a tournament that they have already been knocked out of (e.g. There is no chance they will go any further), even if that tournament is still running.
Then they can sign for another tournament.

17. Janvier 2004, 12:02:10
Jason
how is it that pawns can play in more than one tournament ? when they are still in other tournaments to goto another round ect ? . i have noticed this on a few occasions . if they can do this they dont have a need to upgrade

If you didn't get a blank message from me, ughaibu, I don't think they went. It would have said 'message sent' anyway, I'm sure.

It was fine. Sorry, next tiresome question: can a person send a message by subject line only or do we need something in the message box?

Did that make sense? I just re-read it and it sounded complicated!
