censoring newbies would not be very sociable.and I doubt it would discourage a troublemaker.

Sujet: Re: Pawns on probation
playBunny: It has been my ezperince that as far as online board go:
hidden posts & complicated post rules only complicate the system unneccesarily, and dont resolve the problem.
the best systems seem to work when:
1-all posts are visible..so all can see..its removes the subversive element.
( if you have something to say,you should be able to say it to all)
2-there are many boards re many subjects..but one general board which is truly general in scope.
3-boards are moderated fairly but often.
4-under aged people are not allowed on adult content boards.
5-the greatest deterrant to troublemakers is a stricy non tolerant policy.
usually a temp bann for 1st offense,2nd ban can be for a year.
( but you must make sure you have properly ID'd a problem child)
without a lot of rant..anyone got any to-the-point ideas to add?

playBunny: I am not trying to be a know-it-all,but to those who dont know.it is worth the time to learn something about boolean logic & some of the useful ways a search engine can be used.
play bunnys example is just one.their are many math functions many search engines can perform. re google for example, see more:
http://www.google.com/help/features.html#calculator
http://www.google.com/help/calculator.html
http://www.google.com/help/features.html#currency
------
also it also helps zero in on exactly what you are looking for without a lot of"thrashing"( that is touring many search result pages).

Tuesday: I think the key factor should be who we ALL vote is the most interesting person at the time to be intereviewed.
we should ALL be allowed to be picked.
is it not fair?

baudrillard: just an obsevation.does any one else feel this way..or am I weird?
freedom of speak is great,I agree.it is a treasured luxury that we in the "do what ever we want 1st world culture" forget is unavailable in many countries.what blows me away is that in this culture,we claim to be the champions of free speech & democracy.but there are so many that would dictate(even online it appears in some places) what we talk about, and what out attitudes should be,and even what we should be wearing.
granted, there should be self-dicipline,self-control,modesty,descency & respect for others.but it seems these noble character traits are all but lost these days in many.
their are also( I am not pointing my finger at anyone in particular))so many online who are abusive,anti-social,anti-feminine who want to argue, rant(repeatedly)over things.its too bad.the internet can be a remarkable tool for communication.whats my point?
so many people waste their energies on negative behavior.
