So how the forever occured.....? Fencer? Please hurry up since my curiousity is eating my body....
Also "forever" is not the most appropriate word for various reasons.....
BIG BAD WOLF: So what does that signify?? I reviewed francescolr profile since he holds one of those black rooks.. and he doesn't have major membership years on his..
alanback: You can go to the player list ( http://brainking.com/en/PlayerList?a=ap ), sort by level type - the "black rook's are mixed in with the regular ones.
How can you be brainrook forever? I'm sure if my eyes aren't deceiving me that i just saw someone with that dexcription lol Unless he's payed for a load of years in advance?
Fencer: "everybody is free to use only features he likes."
Mostly true. Knights who only play a few games can't utilise the tournament system as they might like because of the one-per-game-type restiction. Eg, a Knight in a multi-year Backgammon tournament can enjoy no other.
Unless you've changed that somewhere along the line?
ZEROZERO: If you think it stinks, don't use it. That's what BrainKing is about, everybody is free to use only features he likes. I think it's pointless to discuss in this way because nobody likes everything. Whatever your point is, I don't play to change anything.
Fencer: that's right ...and nobody "forced" me to pay lol ..I was only paying for those members because I wanted them to enjoy this great site and they didn't have enough money to buy a membership or they didn't have a credit card and so on .... at his moment I'm afraid when I see things like this happen .I think the whole "brain" system stinks .. When a player pays a membership for another person I think you should give the brains automatically ...OK...I didn't read the whole stuff about the brain system , cause, as I said, I'm not interested in all that administration rubbish ....but now , more than one year later I cannot sign up for those tourneys ...I think that sucks a bit :)
We'll see what other improvements are coming up but I don't have a good feeling with this first one :(((
ZEROZERO: The prize tournaments with an entry fee is just one small part of the improved tournament system. And, of course, nobody is forced to pay for other users.
I have my doubts about this tournament system .
I bought lots of memberships for different players with my credit card but since I'm not interested in administration things, I didn't know about the brain system. This means I didn't mention whatever I needed to mention to obtain those brains . Right : at this moment I got 0 brains so I cannot sign up for this "improved" tournament system .
Besides this , I'm afraid this kind of tournaments will create a small group of elite players ..those who got "brains" :))Playing for more brains ....
Oh well ....not my problem ...I will go on playing "normal" games, but I think I'll stop paying new memberships for belgian players who got no credit-card or players who are afraid for internet payments. No more renewals of memberships with my credit card .
Having just posted a redundant reply on another board, I'm curious about the possibility of editing or removing one's own posts. I sometimes see posts flagged as modified, but I haven't found any way to do this. Is this another feature which is only available to paying members?
Czuch Chuckers: not to butt in here Chuckers.. but, I have recently purchased 3 membieships and have gotten the credit and the brains for each one.. just add a note to the purchase to credit your account with the brains and bonus..
If I buy a membership for someone else, can I have the bonus membership in my name instead of theirs, should it be given? Or even saved for use in a prize tournament?
alanback: Lol. I don't believe you can extend your own Pawness into someone else's Rookhood! But as to who the extension is being applied to ... whomever you nominate.
Pythagoras: I believe the answer to 1) is that you don't actually buy memberships, per se, you buy membership extensions. It's just that with some people they are extending their Pawnness into Rookhood. So it would be B).
I asked a similar question to 2) and 3) way back whenever and got the answer "Fencer would work something out", so I'll be interested to hear any further elucidation.
