Discuss the development of our Android application.
Find it on Google Play here: BrainKing for Android Warning! The application is far from being finished, so please do not rate it yet. It is published for testing purposes at the moment.
Try it out and get 50 free Brains. :-) Find details here (bottom).
Currently supported games: Chess and "normal" variants (without start position editing, behemoths etc.), Checkers and variants (although white starts all games, it's just a visual issue), Backgammon and variants (except Fevga and I am not quite sure about Plakoto), Froglet and variants, Breakthrough, Lines of Action and variants, Line4 and variants, Halma, Knight Fight, Tablut, Five in Line, Ludo, Run around the Pond. Please note that opening an unsupported game will show a blank page (yes, I will improve it soon). If it happens, just click the back button to get the game list.

Since I have forgotten to remove localhost connection, please wait for 0.7.3 that should be available in every moment. 0.7.2 won't connect to the server.
Fencer: the following game looks mirrored when i view it on my phone (i am black in this game both on the website as on my phone, but the board is mirrored)
Hrqls: And are you white or black? It is possible that phone version shows it right only under specific circumstances. Anyway, it is just a visual bug, the game is playable, indeed.
Fencer: hmm just tested (opened a fevga game both on my coputer as well as on my phone) .. and it was perfect .. exactly the same on my computer as in the app on my phone
Hrqls: I believe that Fevga is kind of playable but the off bars are located at the same side (instead of opposite directions). But I guess that's the only issue with it.
troydaniels: You are right, I forgot to clear the text field after sending a move. Will be fixed. Regarding system events, it really shows only the event list at the moment. I just wanted to test something and didn't implement all functions yet.
If I send a message to my opponent when I submit my move, the text remains in the box, as if it is going to be sent to the opponent of the next game as well. (I didn't test if it is actually sent.)
Also, when I select system events, I get a list of message title, but I don't seem to be able to actually read the messages. Is that supposed to be working.
After a short break (I was working on another project) I have uploaded a new version of BrainKing for Android. It supports more games (see this board description) and fixes one backgammon bug with autoswapped dice.
tricialou: You are welcome. I am aware of several backgammon bugs that will be fixed when I get back to work (doing some improvements to BrainCalc now). If no unexpected problems occur, the app should support all 128 game types by the end of this year.
Hrqls: You are welcome. A little promotion cannot hurt. In fact, I was thinking of making an achievement out of it, but I am afraid that people without an Android phone would feel bad about it.
I have just found out that Android 4.1 (JellyBean) does not display gif images properly, so if you use this version on your device and do not see any chess pieces, this should be the reason. The pieces will be replaced by png images soon.
