Since you are the BIG BOSS of the fellowship for the team you belong to, you must make yourself captain of the backgammon team first.

(Then you need to find a total of 8 players to join your team and play in the team tournament.)

If anyone is interesting in trying out the 5 new games, I've created a tournament with just those 5 games:

► 5 NEW GAMES! ▼ Legan Knight Grand PahTum Hasami◄

# Legan Chess
# Knight Relay Chess
# Grand Chess
# PahTum

Fencer: Um..... I think I will have to disagree with Fencer on this one!

I just resigned 3 games with no moves made (3 win match), and I lost BKR points and the other person gained BKR points!

Londo is the winner.

Londo: old BKR = 2487, new BKR = 2488 (+1)
BIG BAD WOLF: old BKR = 2061, new BKR = 2059 (-2)

Game type: Froglet
Tournament: Frogazons Plus Fellowship - Froglet II

= = = = = = = = =

.... not that I'm worried about 2 BKR points, but you do still lose BKR points if it's a tournament game! (no matter what Fencer says!)

So for example, a game where each player will have a total of 2 days to make his moves (weather he makes them in 1 hour, or starts to make them after a day. = = = Fisher's Clock: 2/0/2

So for example, a game where each player should never take more then 5 hours after the last player played to make a move = = = Fisher's Clock: .5/.5/.5 (or course this could end up taking longer then 2 days)

mrloupcity: Looking at your games, I'm guessing you are talking about the "1.st Liberals & Talent Tournament - Crowded Backgammon" - http://brainking.com/en/Tournaments?tri=49714#1

If that is the case, then the time is using the new Fischer's clock time control, which in all Fischer clock games - holidays/weekends/vacations are not used. (That has been listed in the Time Help Section since the Fischer's clock was introduced.)

But because all of those games did not have days off, Fencer at first did not have the red dot next to those tournaments - since all would have no time off it did not make a difference. But I believe he added them recently so it would be easier to see by everyone since not everyone will go read the help about the new time control.

So you are right that it probable did not say "no time off" when you signed up - but all games using Fisher's clock has not vacation or weekend days.

Sujet: Re: Can any1 tell me how
mrloupcity: Tournament creators have no way to change the type of days off a tournament has - so all tournament should have the same "days off" rules that where there when they started.

If you see something you think has been changed - it may be a bug, but nothing should be changing after it is created.

Yea, the automatic vacations can be a great feature - for people who may lose internet access or some other emergancy keeps them from their games, but it does seem that it gets abused more then not.

At some point Fencer plans on putting a limit on how many auto-vacation days can be taken at one time (so for example - only 5 auto-vacations at one time) can be taken - but this is NOT IN PLACE YET since Fencer has had other issues to take care of, but I do believe it is on his 2-do-list.

First, it is a 2 hour limit - meaning up to 4 hours of playing (2 hours for each player).

And don't forget to let players know if 6 or more players join the tournament, there will be multiply sections - meaning if you win a section, you will have another 1 hour wait from when the first round is complete, then up to an additional 4 hours for the 2nd round to play.

Backoff: I'll break it down for you.

    Section #2:

    Player 1 - 2 wins
    Player 2 - 5 wins
    Player 3 - 2 wins
    Player 4 - 3 wins
    Player 5 - 5 wins
    Player 6 - 0 wins
    Player 7 - 3 wins

So so to figure out S-B's
    Player 1 - won against player 4 & 6. Player 4 had 3 wins. Player 6 had 0 wins. So 3+0 = 3. 3 S-B

    Player 2 - won against player 1,3,5,6,7 = 2+3+5+0+3= 13. 13 S-B

    Player 3 - won against 1,4,6 = 2+3+0= 5.

    Player 4 - won against 2,6,7 = 5+0+3= 8

    Player 5 - won against 1,3,4,6,7 = 2+3+3+0+3= 11

    Player 6 - no wins = 0

    Player 7 - won against 1,3,6 = 2+3+0= 5

    Sujet: How S-B work
    modifié par coan.net (14. Juin 2005, 06:59:14)
A question I get every once and awhile is how the S-B works in tournaments, and it is pretty simple once you know how it works - so I decided to just post a good expination here for everyone to read who might have questions.

First, I picked a tournament as an example: THIS TOURNAMENT

Now first, the points are figured. You get 1 point for each win. So:
  • (1)arpa - 3 wins, 3 points
  • (2)zockerdotcom - 3 wins, 3 points
  • (3)SMART ALX - 0 wins, 0 points
  • (4)Ladybird68 - 2 wins, 2 points
  • (5)Merrily Watkins - 2 wins, 2 points.

Now once all the games and points are figured, this is where the S-B is figured.

The S-B is the SUM of the points of your oppenets that you won against. So:

  • (1)arpa(3 points) - had win against player 3, 4, and 5. Player 3 had 0 points. Player 4 had 2 points. Player 5 had 2 points. So 0+2+2=4 [4 S-B]
  • (2)zockerdotcom(3 points) - wins agains 1,3,5. So 3+0+2=5 [5 S-B]
  • (3)SMART ALX(0 points) - [0 S-B]
  • (4)Ladybird68(2 points) - wins against 2,3. So 3+0=3 [3 S-B]
  • (5)Merrily Watkins(2 points) - wins against 3,4. So 0+2=2 [2 S-B]

So first the person with the most points win. In this example, both arpa & zockerdotcom have 3 points each. At this point we look at the S-B. zockerdotcom has 5 S-B, while arpa only has 4 S-B, so zockerdotcom gets the win for this tournament!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The winner of a tournament is the one with the most points. In some cases, the person with the highest S-B will not have the most points, so does not win. Only time S-B comes into play is if there is a tie in points.

    Hope this helps everyone!

First I had a few people ask me if I was going to make more of the "Fast Start - First 5 to sign up" tournaments like I've done in the past - well I've started them back up - And this time to make the games a little quicker, NO DAYS OFF has been added to the games - meaning no weekends and no vacations. 3 days should be 3 days!

Check out the Tournaments to see what is currently up. When I see one get filled with 5 players, I start that and make a new tournament.

    = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Second, since the last "dummies" tournament did very well - almost had enough players to start every game! Anyway, The #10 for dummies tournament is ready for sign ups.

Even if a fellowship gets deleted, the games & tournament are still completed with the players that were on the team.

If you check out the "Player results" on that page, you will find the players in the fellowship that was deleted (no fellowship team listed.)

now having said that, it looks like all those players have already completed their 12 games for this team tournament, so it looks like there is a bug that is not recordng their wins/loses correctly. It will have to be something Fencer needs to look at.

I know for any of my "tournament for dummies" for players rated 1500 or below, about a day or so before the tournament starts, I actually go through manually and kick out anyone who is way above 1500. (If someone now has 1525 or something close I usually let them stay - but if it's like 1700, then they are gone.)

But even then, some are unrated and even within hours of it starting they can shot from unrated to 2100.

Yea, it's just how Fencer has it programed - to make it easy, it just looks for 5 free game slots for "1 game per 2 players", and 10 free game slots for "2 games per 2 players" .... even if more or less game slots are needed.

(So a pawn may have 10 free game slots, start a tournament and add 14 games bringing the total to 24 games, which they would then need to get the total back down below 20 before starting any new after that.)

You know it really does not matter since it never said what the prize was - maybe the prize was "The pleasure of playing in his pond".

Now if it said something like "Prize for 6 month rook", or some other object - then I would agree that it is wrong to change it. But it never said what the prize was so it really does not matter.

aere: As a pawn, you can be in 1 tournament - Check out the "Tournaments" link HERE

You can also "filter" the tournament list to just show Battleboats Plus games - HERE which there are a few to choose from.
