yes...members get better dice....the funny thing is they play their dice so dam dumb i can still win...your right about how many hours it would take to make sure EVERY move is watched so once in a long while i seem to catch whoever it is asleep and get decent dice.....but then the site slows down again and i can tell they're looking my games over again to see what to screw me again.....isn't it fun....if i left... then what would they do for fun....??

you haven't really played all that many games over all the variants here yet.. try playing a load more, and I'm sure you'll see that everything average's out over a larger number of games. Afterall, backgammon's a game where luck of the dice (good or bad !) really does have a lot to do with it.

Zuggie.. if it's bothering you this much, why play here ? The fact that you've looked into the amount you have, and complained about it a whole heap in the past, makes it pretty clear that you think the dice-man has a personal vendetta against you ! If it's causing you that much bother, and this site is as bad as you think.. oh, and I forgot about you thinking all members are cheating, or have someone fixing the dice on their behalf, then simply play elsewhere !

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you really feel that this is the "worst site on the internet", maybe you should try playing somewhere else.

I personally do not believe that someone would take the time out of their lives to personally pick out a pawn and make them get bad rolls.... I also believe that there is nothing I can say will change your mind either.... so honestly, if you really feel that way - it might be best to just start playing somewhere else.

my mistake...i missed a game adding the 1-2's ..1-3's and 1-4's....so i have 90 of those ...out of 163 moves....all i can say is it doesn't happen that way playing on a real board and it doesn't happen that way at any other sites i play at....only here....and i figure the site stuttering when i click games is when you look to see what will screw my game up the worst and give me that...this is the WORST site on the internet...!!!!!!!

silly or not.. that's the way it is here....i've been keeping track of my moves for a while now and here's what i get...out of 163 gammon moves i've gotten 22 doubles of those.. 2 were 6's...163 moves and 2 sets of 6's.!!!....4 were 5's...5 were 4's and the rest was just to make it look like i get doubles as somebody scrolls down my game moves...also out of 163 moves i've gotten 75 moves that were 1-2...1-3...or 1-4......i hope whoever's screwing with my dice gets tired of it soon....can't you find something else to do..??!!.....how about fixing the site..!!...it's strange when i have games to make moves in the site all of a sudden screws up and dam near runs backwards it stutters around so much.....but if i don't have any game to send it runs fine....i can click this and that and have no problems at all but as soon as a game is sent to me ..boom...there's the stuttering back again.....who's idea of fun is that...i call it aggravating and i'd sure never pay somebody for a crap site like this..!!

OMG I was thinking Zoloft or something similar when I started reading this thread, now I think Colt or Magnum might solve Zugs problem LOL

Can you even begin to imagine the time it would take for Fencer to look into someones games, ascertain what dice would screw someone, and then have to continually monitor the game to ensure he screwed them enough? Then to write some kind of script (I aint a programmer) to force the dice a certain combo.
That would be a full time job in itself.

Sometimes draw is a good thing for example if one person had an emergancy and can not finish the game and to be nice to just draw the game instead of taking the lose.

But like always, it is up to the person if they want to accept or decline a draw. Personally if I'm going to win a game, I will not draw either - it would be better for the other person to just resign.

you think so....all i can say is when you've been screwed as many times as i have in my life turning the other cheek is not an option anymore..you learn to see who's doing the screwing and make sure they stop...one way or another....that's not childish...that's called growing smarter and teaching someone that not everybody in this world is their little kick-around patsy ...I'm big enough to kick back... and Harder..!!

FYI a 1-2 is twice as likely as a 6-6
1-2 has a 1 in 18 chance of showing up.
6-6 has a 1 in 36 chance.

is there a reason 1-2 comes up 20 times more often than any other dice combination at this site...and if it's not a 1-2 it's a 1-3....if it's random then sombody must be getting entire games of double 6's to make up for the 1-2's i'm getting...how about it...anybody see more double 6's than 1-2's here...???

Sujet: What is life??
1400 years ago the Emperor of India has sent the game Chess, with an accompanying letter to the Persian Emperor.
The letter had nothing but the following:

"To his highness, the Emperor of Persia,

Whoever thinks more
Whoever knows more
Whoever sees the future better
Wins
This is life...."

The Persian Emperor shares this message with his minister Buzur Mehir who is considered the wisest of all, and asks him to invent a game to send to the Indian Emperor back as a present.
The minister, after studying and understanding the strategy of Chess and movements of its each piece, invents the game Backgammon and presentsit to the Emperor.

Then they send the backgammon set to the Indian Emperor with a note that reads:

"To his highness Emperor of India,

Yes, whoever thinks more
Whoever knows more
Whoever sees the future better
Wins
But there has to be a little luck too.
This is the real life......"

Zuggie, I suggest perhaps mentioning to your opponent that this is generally accepted as illegal. Maybe they just didn't know that. I'm not sure if Fencer would put the game back a move so that they can then make a legal move, but at least that person will now know it was wrong.
I, too, hope that someday Fencer will program the backgammon games to follow this rule. In the mean time, we just have to live with it!

i wouldn't call it cheating...i'd call it somebody not knowing the rules of the game...type in ..backgammon rules....in your search....everyone of the sites states that if both dice can be used they must be used....why is that so tough to understand....the way it is it's like playing a game of checkers and just because your king is trapped in a corner you don't want to move that move....or the jump rule in checkers....maybe i don't want to jump...

Yea, that game (HERE) is a perfect example of things that have be talked about over and over here on some of the backgammon boards.

The "real" backgammon rules state that a player must use both dice if possible. Here at BrainKing, it does not enforce that rule. (So some players call it cheating, yet others call it OK since it is allowed).

I'm not sure what Fencers feelings are on the subject - since he is the "main" person, he would be the one to decide if the move should be allowed or not. (I'll send him a message and ask) - I'll post a reply or ask him to! :-)

Hi....i have a game i think an illegal move has been made..backgammon race and it's game #197727..i'm leaving it on the move...i didn't use the two 1's yet.....it looks to me that she coulda used the 3 then the 6 on my home side ...or...used the 6 and 3 on her side too....i don't have a clue why she got away with just using the 3 with so many options....maybe it was a bug and she couldn't use the 6...i don't know...all i know is i see the 6 could be used and wasn't...

Sujet: Re: European Backgammon Tournament (EBT)
To all those that entered.

Here follows a copy of the message that i`ve posted on my tournament page concerning EBT.

(NOTICE)4/11/03 Because of all the site problems i have decided to cancel this tournament with immediate effect. If players wish to continue with the tournament then please feel free but please be aware that NO PRIZE will now be offered since i intend to re-run the whole tournament at a later date when all the site faults are corrected. Sorry for the disappointment that this may cause.!

I have done this because of the difficulties that may arise from having moves "Rolled back" to the the earlier date with a good example being possible different results than they where originally.!

I will not be deleting the tournament, so please feel free to continue if you so wish.

Thanks.

Thank you Big Bad Wolf! This is such a fun game, I can't see why more people aren't playing. I wanted to join the game but it had already started, and it's already filled, so sad...I want to be on a team before I start up a tournament of my own, to see the ins and outs of what happens.

In my fellowship (The Gammon Cube), we have a Crowded tournament every month (Around the 25th of each month) [I have sent you an invite to that fellowship]

For the Main Tournaments, you will probable have to look for "all game" or "all gammon" tournaments, not very often does someone start just a Crowded tournamnet.

.... but you are a Rook now, you could start your own Crowded tournament! :-)
