Sujet: Re: Move and go to the next game of this tournament
frolind: I have asked for this one a few times in the past, - Fencer does know that it doesn't work and, if I remember correctly, did say he would look at it some time ago. I assume it's still on his "to-do" list.
As far as Language options, it can be replaced by the English Flag, and all those who have the Union Jack on their profile can choose from the English, Scottish Welsh and Northern Ireland flags, which are already in the database.
grenv: I think it's fine how it is, but I would prefer the Union Jack Flag that is at the top right, to be the Red Cross on white flag. When you hovver your mouse over it, it says "English", but that flag represents "British" - to me.
rod03801: Perhaps you could, by keeping in contact with Fencer, amend the top of this board to have 2 headings - something like - "Features being worked on at present(or in development as it at present)" - numbered in priority to Fencer from 1 to X, and then another list of "Features Requested - not currently being considered/worked on".
By keeping the Features being worked on upto date, people will be able to see exactly what's coming, and the other list will help people see what's been requested previously so we dont get the same suggestions every few months when the original request gets burried in all the posts.
Regardless of which is the most popular game etc, Fencer has stated many times that this site was always intended to be prodominantly a "Chess" site.
I dont play Chess, or any of it's variants, in fact I only really play Backgammon - so I am one of the many who are eagerly waiting for new variants/improvements, but I don't complain and neither do many others.
Perhaps if we leave Fencer to get on with his improvements, we may see some to the BG games in time quicker.
Yes - I agree, perhaps an more regular/accurate update on current features in progress and which features Fencer is prioritising, but in the meantime, I think we should just bear with the site.
playBunny: it should be moved as per the discussion board description.
There is a big difference between a "request" and a "discussion/debate".
On this occasion, the debate went on, and on, and so was interupted, and requested to be moved to the more specific board, where it would be best suited.
grenv:
This board is for things "you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here"
Yes, it turned into (a very good) discussion, which would have been better served on the Espionage Discussion Board, rather than on this "feature Request" board.
We have "discussion" boards that are individual to each game/and or group of games. All I was saying was... use them.
AbigailII: eh? why would a keen Espionage player not visit the board created for that game? That's the reason why the board is there.
As per the board description..... "Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board!
If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board"
WhiteTower: originally, it was a request - and no doubt noted by Fencer, but the continuing discussion/chat about the pro's/cons etc is better placed on the correct board - so that users who perhaps only use that specific board to discuss Espionage (but perhaps dont visit here) can also have their opinion, read your posts/discussion.
In addition, note the description of the board at the top of the page.... ;)
In the Tournament section, please could you add a filter to the "game type" and "status" to include "created by"? so I can easily access finished games created by me only, or other tournaments created by other users?
Hrqls: I posted on here a few weeks back asking for at least one "saved" messages folder, so I could keep my inbox clean and store messages for future use.
I think Fencer may have it on his "to-do" list? but he hasn't confirmed yet. I agree, It would be a good and useful addition.
Hannelore: Yes, that's what Paulo said - it is there but when you click it it show it like it shows your finished game records on your own profile page, pllus you are looking at it the opposite way round - i.e. the number of wins you have had is shown under losses - as if you were looking at the page from the other players perspective.
What I mean, is that if i click into your profile, it would be a good feature to have the record for the total number of games visable straight away as one line like i posted earlier.
pauloaguia: Yes, but I was looking for something easier - like if I looked at your profile it would say something like "Bry-v-Pauloaguia - Won-8 Lost-2 Draw-4" for example.
wayney: yes, I set them all up to be white. Apparently I've been told that the roll of the die determines who goes first so it doesnt matter what colour we play.
Fencer: Probably on your "to-do" list, but have you plans to make it so when you click in the red numbers next to the discussion boards, you are taken straight to the oldest "new" post?, rather than having to scroll down when there are 100+ posts that are new?
Fencer: Could you add an option to the drop down selection when completing moves to - "move and go to next game in this tournament" - so I can make all my moves in the same tournament one after the other - without having to search for them on the main page.
