Not sure if this has been requested before, but I'm wondering if it's not too difficult to implement if we could have "number of moves made so far today" added beside our name. Since the system keeps track of the number of moves anyway, would it be hard to do?
Would it be possible, or even practical to have a little section off the main page to put notes to yourself, ie...personal reminders, or notes about a particular opponent other than on a specific game?
I just think it would be an interesting stat for comparison purposes. I consider myself an average player in most games, however, what IS average? If I could see what the actual average is of all players on the site, I can see over time whether I am improving or not. And since the site average would increase and decrease constantly, I think it would be of interest to many people to see where they stand themselves.
Would it be possible to display the average BKR of all players (both established and provisional) at the top of the ratings page for each game?
If this has already been requested, please excuse me, as I don't read this board except when I come up with a lowly suggestion.
Fencer, in the message we get when we win or lose a game, could you put a link there that would take us directly to the tournament it relates to (if it is a tournament game) so that we don't have to click on the "show game" link and then the tournament link? I play a lot of tournament games (currently over 400), so it would save me a lot of unnecessary clicks...and I'm sure other players would find this more convenient as well. :)
I have not been on here much recently, so I don't know if this has been mentioned or not.
I would like to see those who are making tournaments give a descriptive name in the title of your tournament so we know what type of game (or games) will be played. I know that I like to play certain game types, and don't want to have to click on each tournament to see if the game I want to play is offered.
So, for example, rather than put something like "Stingers Rock'em Sock'em May Tournament", try naming it "Stingers Rock'em Sock'em Backgammon Tournament". If you have more than one game type, name it something like "Stinger's Rock'em Sock'em Tournament (All games)"...or if it is a specific style of game, try this..."Stinger's Rock'em Sock'em Tournament (All line games)".
This would help make finding an appropriate tournament a lot quicker and easier for me (and I'm sure a few others as well).
I'm not sure if it would be possible to add cribbage to a game site like this or not. But keep in mind, this is a TURN BASED game site. That means that after every card that is layed, you'd have to send it back to your opponent. That would make one hand seem unnecessarily long...let alone the entire game.
Sorry, a misunderstanding here. I mean that on each turn, the high dice is automatically the default move. So if you roll and 3 and a 5. The dice show the 5 first, and that is your default move. Many of us are used to the other backgammon sites where this is how it is played, so when we click on a piece to move, it just moves the highest dice number first. (Does this make sense?)
I know your feature request list must be getting huge, but I'm sure looking forward to the day that when I play the Backgammon games (and variants) the high dice defaults to the first move. :)
There should be some way of recalling that info down the road. I will keep track of my own tourney winners so that I can periodically have a tournament of champions with all of my tourney's winners pitted against each other.
Yes it does. I believe you need to have at least 5 open game slots in order to play in a tourney if you have a limited account. Perhaps Fencer could confirm this for us.
I will be holding many more tournaments MadMonkey, so you'll get your chance. There are other tournaments open for signup at this very moment that other people are holding too.
Perhaps that could go on your long list of things to do. I just started my first tourney, and sent a starting message to all the participants. It would have been nice to be able to send it once, and have it go to each of them. Fortunately, there were only 12 in the tourney...not too hard for copy and paste, but I anticipate having many more in the tourneys as days go by.
In the nackgammon game I am playing, the pieces are moving in the opposite direction that they should be taking into consideration the way the board is set up.
