Okay, I just tried the back option and it worked great... no more red new message tags, but at least it takes me back to the same spot i was in, that works, thanks!

Sujet: discussion boards
Sometimes I check a board with many new messages that I want to respond to. As I go through and read them, I want to stop and post a comment about certain posts, and then go back and continue on from where I left off.

The problem is, after I post a response, I get taken back to the top of the board, and on top of that, all of the 'red, new message tags' are now gone as well.

Okay, to the point..... Can you make it so that after we post a reply to a specific message, that we be taken back to the order of the messages where we already were?

Sorry, its so long winded, is it understandable what I am asking for?

Andersp: That was kind of my original point... That Fencer has been changing gears as far as this site goes lately.

Not so much what we want, but more what he wants... MONEY!

But we agree that both could be compatible, yet he seems to think otherwise?

I personally dont like the recent shift towards money making "click on this other website " schemes that seem to be more and more4 a major patrt of this website :(

coan.net: Well, obviously (hopefully obvious) I was trying to get some form of positive reaction going...

But honestly, what I meant is what recently requested features were enacted?

The ones you mentioned were either new features that have really never been requested, IE I dont remember too many people ever requesting new payment options or new ways for free memberships. ( I am sure they have been requested before, But really What features have the most requests?) Or have never been requested before.

I understand that there was a period of growth that allowed for more requests, and now this is not true, and yes, there have been some requests made possible, but it seems like the focus has changed considerably lately.

I also know that you will try to contradict me at every turn, due to personal biases... but you even admit hoping for more features to be improved

Anywho, my only hope from that post was, as I stated, to generate more interest and to get Fencer thinking about such things again, hopefully.

When was the last time any new features requested by the membership were enacted anyway?

One of the better things about this site in the past was the accessibility and responsiveness of the ownership, which has been sorely lacking as of late, IMHO

Fencer... will you ever give us another multi player game please?

Also or, please give us more control with pond runs.... IE smaller person games and other ideas which have been requested for years now?

Fencer: BTW, o days 2 hours doesnt work too well... you would have to be online for at least 15 straight hours to win one like that, more preferable would be a way to make a whole game finish in less than 1 hour or so

Do we have any place to keep track of the polls we have already made? Besides the link at the top of the main fellowship page that says 'polls'? This one doesnt really do it for me, for several reasons.

Thats too much....I was just now coming here for the exact same request!!!

Opinion polls always generate some sort of discussion topics, Maybe we could take a poll to find out who would be interested in discussion boards linked to the polls?

Please calculate the pond BKR as soon as we lose, instead of when the whole pond is finished.

The same as with any other tournament type of situation, where the BKR is calculated after we lose, not after the whole tournament is finished.

It would be great if fencer could make this whole site 'idiot proof', but since that is not likely to ever happen, then taking a little more time to pay attention to what we are doing is the next best advice

What is the next feature request?

"The color coded games get me confused, I never remember which ones are what, can you please Fencer make it so when I make a silly move I am asked if i am sure I am playing the game i think I am playing?"

It says here that this game uses auto pass, but it in fact does not?

Since I am becoming famous for leaping to conclusions.... I will make more and say that backgammon is one of the most popular games on this site?

My bet is that if you make a poll and ask people who play one of the most played games here if they want a better more acceptable form of auto pass, then you will find "some kind of majority" that you mentioned

Well, you would be overlooking many, many, many points, i can assure you

One reason someone might want to do this is to say "hello" or some other form of communication to their opponent.

Another is that in a cubed gammon game, they may wish to offer a double to their opponent.

A third reason is that their opponent may want them to.

Thats all i can think of right now, their may be more... oh yeah, Fencer wants you to as well

rednaz23: I think fencers point was not how long it would take an individual to load their pages, but how it might tax his system.

Now the discussion seems to be more about how fencer could do it without taxing his system to the point where it might cause problems, or slow things down.

Maybe Fencer misstated his objection, or maybe he doesnt understand that it could be done defferently than he thinks, as to not create any real negative effects, anyway, it is now not about a feature request so much.... maybe it should be discussed elswhere?

This is a game for paying members only, we should get to play it the way we want to, shouldnt we?

Sending group messages in your fellowship is nice.

I would like the option to send group messages to all my friends online, or all my friends, or maybe there are other lists as well?

For example, I am bored right now, and would like to be able to send out an invitation for a quick tournament to all my friends who are online right now, in one group message.

While at it, maybe also a feature to be able to send out an invitation to a private tournament to all of my friends online, and other lists like that too?

Why couldnt we have a feature similar to the smileys except that it would be a list Like:

Good Game!
Thank You!
Good Luck!
etc...

Maybe even allow us to make custom ones to store in there as well?

Sujet: I tried a few of these small ponds that Kunoichi created while looking for ponds and they weren't all that fun to play - much more random factor than strategy, takes most of the fun out of it in my opinion.
pauloaguia: My opinion is that your opinion is premature...

I think once you played a few of these games that there would actually be more strategy involved, for one reason, since there are fewer turns, there wouldnt be as much chance to make up for any mistakes.

Maybe 5 persons would be too small or maybe not, but the option would be nice!

AbigailII: Abigail, I would recommend that you play a pond run or two, and see how that works, I think that would satisfy your understanding of how the time control would work in a game like war strategy, and it would also help you understand better about time outs in those types of games as well!
