Sujet: Hi everybody
You guys have been putting out a bunch of really great stuff here tonight.  Sorry I haven't been around, I'm learning how to do Wikis, and I've been working on my html in preparation for finally getting my web page up and operational.  So, I've been scattered, but I just ran through the chat and files from tonight.  We have such talented people here, with such great taste in what is and what isn't music.  It makes me proud to know all of you, even those I only cyber-know.  Dan, you're absolutely blowing my mind.  Thank you for sharing all you have shared.  Please don't stop, we're spoiled now.

You're so cute, I could pinch your cheeks (the ones on your face, come up out of the gutter).  Hahaha!  Lovely song.  Supertramp is another of my all time favorites.  Great lyrics.  I can almost identify with the description of the closed up heart.

Rick James & Tina Marie  are  flat hot!  Lucky you to see them in concert.

SEAWOLF2: Just above the text box it says either "Switch to plain text editor" or "Switch to rich text editor"

For embedded videos, you switch to the plain text and, using your youtube link, you get this:

Sujet: Re: 2ND TRY....
Tigger: No, that's what doesn't quite make sense. WebTV just sees the regular plain old text box. With no option above the board to "switch". I am not positive what the problem is. Since it is just copying and pasting code, it would seem that being on WebTV would have nothing to do with it. I'd have to hook up my WebTV to investigate it a bit.. We didn't have this video capability here when I was still on WebTV.

rod03801: Well, I'm not on WebTV anymore... But yes, webtv users can post links. I suppose he could have copied and pasted it incorrectly somehow? I dunno.. Like I said, until I pull my webtv out, I have no clue..

Jim Dandy: You know how I feel about the Dead, anything is fine, they could have done laundry soap commercials, and I'd have just sat back, listened and been happy.  I was reminded, though, while watching that of why I quit performing in clubs - the audiences are so rude, they talk right over you.  Stella Blue is a very tender song, and we had to have the "wooooos" louder than what was going on on stage.  Thanks though, for reminding me of such a beautiful song.

Uncle Ed.  You came out of left field on that one.  It was a nice song for Sunday night.  I wonder if that was not for our Mousetrap.

Sujet: Announcement
Jim the Dandiest brought this idea to me, and after considering it for more than two hours, I think it's a great idea.  (Will someone please wrap JD's head so it won't get too big to get through the door? )

The idea is for us to have theme nights.  He suggested Bluegrass Tuesday, and in his honor, that's what it will be.  So, why don't we all shop around YouTube for some bluegrass tunes we would like to share, and put them up on Tuesday for everybody to listen to.

To kick things off, I found this little video of John Hartford on the banjer (as some of us southerners call the banjo) and Johnny Cash on the guitar on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.  Hartford explains a little of the history of the banjo, and they play a tribute to Bill Monroe.  Kick back, put up your feet, and tap your fingers along with this clip.

In addition to what Hartford said, my remembrance of the history of the banjo is that it was originallly used as a percussion instrument.  It was Earl Scruggs who first played music on it.  More than that, you will learn here.

So, without further ado, please enjoy the blue grass of Bill Monroe performed by John Hartford and Johnny Cash.
