This entire site uses links for everything....checks out the window for unmarked cars...so until someone from the FBI...checks phone line for taps....
or the CIA....looks under futon...comes knocking on anyones door....looks suspiciously at sleeping cat...I say we cont. to post the way we have been doing...puts on dark glasses to take out (shredded) printouts from Music Board...
What about just posting a link to the lyrics? And I think that if there is a particular phrase that one posts, with a link to the artist's site, is appropriate?
Yes Scarlet...that's a favorite with the kids. Another good song that caputures their imaginations is "Marvelous Toy" by Peter,Paul, and Mary. And Puff is an all time fav.
My fave male performer is Jim Reeves! His voice is(was) so strong! Garth Brooks was a performance genius. He had all the right elements to create a strong following and make megabucks!
But that's the thing...Some are performers while others do it for the love of music. I suppose some are both...
Patsy Cline had the most awesome female voice that I've heard. She's in a class of her own (IMO) Of course Martina McBride can hold her own against any current female performer!!
Yes,my taste leads me to country music, athough I appreciate almost all genres. Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20 makes me sit up and take notice when he sings! Also,Avril Lavigne,Paul McCartney,Eric Clapton,Sheryl Crow.....etc!
My fave bands are The Eagles,Fleetwood Mac,The Beatles,Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones!
Hoobastank is my current fave!!
Cole...I personally dont see a problem with that...the link takes you straight to a lyrics site.Performance fee's would be their problem.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
not sure I agree with that,SF
lets say you invented a game, copyrighted it....but everyone used your invention and gave you no royalties. To me...thats a copywrong.
But I do,however, acknowledge the fact that you have a right to your own opinion, and can voice that opinion. If you couldnt voice your opinion...then I would agree with you on keeping the people quiet.:)
I've personally seen US Marshalls walk into an establishment and remove all the cash from their cash registers, for copyright violations to ASCAP,BMI,and SESAC.
So lets not make the US Marshalls fly to Chechalsavakia(sp?) and empty Fencers drawers ;)
So I guess.....lets try to keep our personal favorites to ourselves, and try to keep conversations about music, songs, and artists....rather than displaying the entire song.
It is an infringement of international copyright law (as opposed to US law) to reproduce lyrics unless the song is in the public domain (ie the author has been dead for 50 years) or Fair Use can be claimed (it's extremely unlikely that posting lyrics on a games site constitutes Fair Use).
Citing the author etc doesn't bypass the law.
In short - don't post lyrics. Fencer could end up in trouble!
I to prefer classic country, especially the ballads. Alan Jackson is suberb in that field and this track is one of my favourites. :o)
It Must Be Love
(Don Williams)
First I get cold and hot
Think I'm on fire, but I'm not.
Oh, what a pain I've got,
It must be love
There's nothing I can do,
All that I want is you.
Look what I'm going through,
It must be love
It must be love, it must be love.
I fall like a sparrow and fly like a dove.
You must be the dream I been dreaming of,
Oh what a feeling, it must be love
Something is wrong or right,
I think of you all night.
Can't sleep 'til morning light,
It must be love
Seeing you in my dreams,
Holding you close to me.
Oh, what else can it be?
It must be love
It must be love, it must be love.
I fall like a sparrow and fly like a dove.
You must be the dream I been dreaming of
Oh what a feeling, it must be love.
Sujet: That's it Scarlet. A great song but I have a slightly different version.
I have a bear puppet. A good size bear. I bought him tennis shoes and kids underwear. After he comes on and the kids laugh at his undies, I sing his song....same idea but this twist in the beginning
The other day (repeat)
I met a bear (repeat)
In tennis shoes (repeat)
And Underwear (repeat)
(all together)
The other day I met a bear
In tennis shoes and underwear
.....and the ending is
The moral of (repeat)
The story is (repeat)
Don't talk to bears (repeat)
In underwears (repeat)
The moral of this story is
Don't talk to bears in underwears!
The other day.. I met a bear..
I met a bear.. out in the woods..
out in the woods.. away out there..
away out there..
The other day I met a bear…
out in the woods away out there…
He said to me..
He said to me.. Why don't you run??..
Why don't you run??.. Cause I see you ain't..
Cause I see you ain't.. got any gun..
got any gun..
He said to me why don’t you run…
Cause I see you ain’t got any gun…
And so I ran..
And so I ran.. Away from there..
Away from there.. But right behind..
But right behind.. Me was that bear..
Me was that bear..
And so I ran away from there.
But right behind me was that bear...
And then I see
And then I see Ahead of me
Ahead of me A great big tree..
A great big tree.. O glory be..
O glory be..
And then I see ahead of me
A great big tree O glory be...
The lowest branch..
The lowest branch.. Was ten feet up..
Was ten feet up.. I’d have to Jump..
I’d have to Jump.. And trust to luck..
And trust to luck.. The lowest branch was ten feet up…
I’d have to jump and trust to luck…
And so I jumped..
And so I jumped.. Into the air..
Into the air.. But, I missed that branch..
But, I missed that branch.. On the way up there..
On the way up there..
And so I jumped into the air…
But, I missed that branch on the way up there…
Now don’t you fret..
Now don’t you fret.. And don’t you frown..
And don’t you frown.. Cause I caught that branch..
Cause I caught that branch.. On the way back down..
On the way back down..
Now don’t you fret and don’t you frown…
Cause I caught that branch on the way back down…
That’s all there is..
That’s all there is.. There ain’t no more..
There ain’t no more.. Until I meet..
Until I meet.. With that bear once more..
With that bear once more..
That’s all there is there ain’t no more…
Until I meet with that bear once more…
maybe your right bwildman, but i know for sure nobody knows who wrote it.I think Roy Orbison did it and Johnny Cash, first.but it is one of the unsolved mystries of music.
Thanks for your input.
