alanback: tyvm for the link :)
As the idea was before, to only include Czech holidays on the calendar because it's a Czech based site. Then Christmas can join Thanksgiving and Chanukah. Just an idea for solving the grey areas. Of course, no one is obliged to agree :)
I especially like "The Chasing and Burning of Judas"!
also:
1 January - New Year's DayEaster Monday
1 May - May Day
8 May - Liberation from Fascism
5 July - Cyril and Methodius
6 July - Burning at Stake of Jan Hus
28 September - Czech Statehood Day
28 October - Establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic
17 November - Freedom and Democracy Day
24 December - Christmas Eve
25 December - Christmas Day
26 December - Boxing Day
Matarilevich: Same here!
But I thought every country had at least one traditional out-of-the-ordinary celebration? Hearing Czech be holidayless, if true, is kinda sad :(
ScarletRose: Or another idea could be that he could just include Czech holidays, since the site is Czech based. Hey, that's a question right there, what days and ways do Czechs celebrate their holidays? Hmmmm...
LuckyCat9: Actually after a quick search, I was wrong. He said he was taking out all holidays - but would probable leave Christmas & new years - which looks like what he did.
BIG BAD WOLF: Actually Christmas & News Years par American/English dating. He probably should've did what he said he was going to do and take out those pesky holidays altogether.
LuckyCat9: Well concidering Thanksgiving is basically a holiday for America I don't have a question as to why Fencer.. who is Czech doesn't recognize it.. I also don't question why a majority of the world population doesn't recognize Christmas/Chanukah either.. due to that holiday season being determined due to religion..
LuckyCat9: Thanksgiving is only a US holiday - this is a "world" site, so many members do not celebrate Thanksgiving. (And if US gets their own holidays, then other countries would want their own holidays, etc.....)
So it looks like Fencer only has Christmas & New Years as holidays.
BIG BAD WOLF: I see purple stuff for holidays on the settings, no names though (unless hidden some how!) Why Thanksgiving and Chanukah/Christmas aren't included is beyond me...
ScarletRose: Yup, I just looked also. Looks like the days around Christmas & New Years Eve are holidays. I could have sworn Fencer said last year he was going to take those out.
LuckyCat9: I just individually clicked each month.. yes.. I know the long way! LOL I only really saw one public holiday and that would be Christmas.. I think since this is an Internet site.. and is not limited to one country or to a set religion.. I think it was decided to not show a prejudice on particular holidays which are limited to either the Country or the Religion that one might be related with..
The answer was no complete sentence either and even entirely silent but I have to thank for the domain cookies being folded back now, especially nice that google syndicate google analytics google allmighty do not aggravate me anymore even before I have logged in. It is not that I would mind officials addicted to controlling every breathe I take, people disappearing to come back neutered, etc. that is daily business here in China and we love it as long as we have the fastest trains. Good to see brainking back on rail also. Praise the leader.
Geo: A detailed instruction has been sent to your mesage box. Take a look. It was explained to you a few tims here yesterday.. Hope my instruction helps!
Fencer: Is there something about the internet backbone coming out of the Czech Republic that causes this problem? If the problem is not with the site itself, then it must be somewhere between the site and the rest of the world, because there is certainly a problem.
